Amazin'

My favorite horseman ! Famine the most fair of all horsemen. He's suppose to restore justice by taking away everithing you possess and make you starve. The more you've got the more you'll lose.

I have to say, this is my favorite of your Four Horsemen. And I agree on your design of Famine. He's always been shown as either a dessicated corpse-like being, or a bloated and diseased creature (Pestilence has that happen often as well). Those are overdone. But this one: This one I like.
He's got the look of like a Robber Baron or something like that. A being that takes from all, rich, poor, healthy and sick. Also, I'd love to use your Horsemen designs in a D&D campaign as a Neutral/Allied party. So I'm asking permission here instead of just doing so. I'll even give them your name if they care to check out your artwork (which they damn well should).

Addendum:
I'm assuming you're familiar with Darksiders slightly. What do you think would be some good names of the horses of Famine and Conquest?
War => Ruin
Death => Despair
Famine => ?
Conquest => ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

BlaineDaymon In reply to BlackTemplar124 [2014-02-02 21:10:58 +0000 UTC]

Conquest and Famine had their names changed in DarksidersΒ  Conquest was changed to Strife

so it would be (Conquest follows Strife)

and Famine was changed to Fury
so we could use (Hell follows Fury)

but with the original names Strife can follow Conquest and Pestilence follows Famine

β€œAbundance does not spread; famine does”

Love this guy, I love how he looks like the patient type that would just wait for someone to die of old age, rather then killing them himself. I guess that's like Famine himself, seeing as Famine is an extremely slow killer.

Famine is third, War is second. I like the scale-sword, but to be honest, before I saw it (and the title) I thought it was Death and the Death was Famine (saw the wallpaper first). Why? This one seems too massive and has a skull-like head, and Death is "quite" slender. Oh, and Death rides a green horse (rotten green, though it sometimes is translated as dead-pale).

I really like the idea of the scale being attached to the sword but i think green kind of is more akin to deaths color, purple might have been a better choice, but that's just my opinion and it is really amazing work.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

theDURRRRIAN In reply to UmbralTide [2012-12-25 05:29:00 +0000 UTC]

ah i see. my reasoning was to mix famine and pestilence

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

apcomics In reply to theDURRRRIAN [2013-11-22 23:23:34 +0000 UTC]

good choice, since Famine... is actually a reference to spiritual famine. so it kinda like the rotting of the soul. spiritual emptyness.

so yeah green mold green an ideal colour. since there not really a lack of soul colour short of ya usual monochromatics which are used anyways.

ZeJon In reply to UmbralTide [2012-12-24 14:25:58 +0000 UTC]

Green is often associated with poison, diseases and sickness. With famine comes diseases, so in that sense it fits.
