Description
When working traditionally I really enjoy drawing with black and white on a midtone paper and I decided today that I don't do it enough digitally. At first leaving the initial sketch layer visible was an accident, but I actually prefer it that way.
I see Ken around sometimes but I have always been without a camera or my phone has died, then finally just before Christmas I was able to take a photograph so that I could draw him.

A beautiful portrait. Looks like you rushed the ears, and it lacks a strong light. But the crosshatching and expression are fantastic. Great job!

The ears didn't really have a strong light, they were more subtle in comparison to the rest of the face because of the lighting and that he has quite an angular face so I didn't want to render them too much (I had been attempting to try and show depth by not having them as sharp as the rest of his face but I guess I didn't really pull that off lol.) ^_^

I think its because objects that are equal depth to the ear... the edge of his neck, the color of the shirt, and the hat... I think because those look sharper it just makes the ear stand out a bit.
