Also seems to be a lot of wasted space on this ship, considering it's a long range explorer. You'd think they would fill up that empty space with cargo/fuel/hydroponics.

well, by that time.....most of the cast has a feel for each of the characters that they portrayed(similar to the TNG cast). Too bad the series was cut short before the full potential of the series was shown(or idea)

You know, when I first saw the NX, I called it the Akira-prise like everyone else. However, once I read up on all the detail work Doug Drexler did on the design, and looking closer at the design itself, I have to say the NX has really grown on me.
