I won't delve too deeply into Trek Geek Lore Details (TGLD) but this the Lexington, not the Enterprise...[link]

I see. Since a not inconsiderable amount of canon Trek is questionable (Ambassador class, for instance) I make extra sure to stay far away from home brew kit-bashes and designs.
Anyway, the star field looks cool. Is it 2D or can you pan around the model?

That makes sense! I've been staring more and more at photos of the studio models (and reading about their history) and the amount of detail and background involved with the ships (up until the Abrams films) is just mind blowing.

Its simple with the Original series and movies
The originalΒ series was a Constitution class and the movies was a Constitution Refit.
The Abrams movies, I`m not sure if the Enterprise is classified as a Constitution class.

I was speaking of the real world design of the filming models (and their history). Changes made to the TMP model's paint after TMP, differences between pilot and series models for TOS, etc.Β

Ahh yes there were 3 models in the original which were mostly the bridge dome sensor dish and nacelle covers fore and aft.

I`m sorry about that. I didn't mean to do that. The animation is very good.
