Description
Running barefoot through the dry eucalypt forest. Sandy soil beneath my bare feet. The heaving of my chest was matched by the panting breaths of the pack. It filled me with pride to see their sleek sandy bodies, their coats glowing red as the sun began to set. With a yip the chorus began. Their howls rose and fell in pitch and tone, our hunt was beginning.
We lept over the rise where we had been hiding and sped after the kangaroos. Their giant feet shook the ground as they bounded away from us. Tails wagged low and tongues hung pink and long as we stalked after our prey.
