This is a pretty good wolf, but there are a few things I noticed that could use some improvement. The first thing I noticed was the eye. In this piece, the eye seems to be at the wrong angle on the wolf's head. Perhaps making it look less like a human eye looking down and more angled up would help with this.. the best I can suggest is look at several different howling wolf images and compare it with yours to see the differences. I always had problems with this part too...
The second thing I noticed was the ear. For some reason, something doesn't look right about it to me.. I think you'd have to look at some photographs to figure out the "why" to it, but eh. Something just doesn't seem "right", in my opinion. Asides that, great work on form and on shading, and you're pretty good with this type of animal!! Keep it up
