No problem. I love your work! It has an amazing scifi/surreal mixture, really cool. You should draw comics!!!

Good idea! Though now I'll see if I am allowed to remain here------one particular club ( ) claims that he/she will take every action possible to remove me from this portal. If it happens, see my progress at my second art account here: [link] .

Who the hell is she and why does she want you off DA?

I've never heard of... "storm artists" but I'll bookmark it just in case.

Basically it is a club that claims to be carrying aid to the victims of "Encyclopedia Dramatica", yet all the actions of this club are composed of:
-expressing hate towards ED and all of it's supporters,
-insulting and labelling 'troll' all the users who do not agree with a part of this club's activity or a club as a whole,
-hiding non-complimentary comments, blocking their authors and tracking their activity.

No sir! It is not a hate club! At all!

Anyway, commenting on this site resulted in club's owner threatening me with actions against this, and any art account I may have.
I got bored by all his/her shenanigans and I sent a report myself, yet I requested an investigation of my own actions as well and agreed to accept the consequences (like receiving a ban myself). That is why there are at least two reports going their way to help-desk, both of them including putting me under investigation.

Aww... man... that sucks... Yeah, I came across a whole group of nazis on DA... sounds similar to your situation but I just decided to give up with them... You just can't persuade ignorant people... I really hope it works out with you though, I like your work and I'd prefer for you to stay with this site... either way... I'm definitely going to stay up dated with your work. Speaking of which, are you trying or are you doing anything professionally with your art career?

At the moment my entire 'art career' is just a side effect of preparations for the faculty of architecture I'm studying at. Everything I had before was a mere choice to pursue path of an architect, armed only with some book knowledge (everything you see here was developed from absolute zero level----what is more, people associated with academy of fine arts have looked once through my stuff and claimed that all I have is learned stuff and no inborn talent---which is absolutely true in my case).

Then again, maybe I can do something with this 'unintended fallout' and forge it to some alternate path of work...

Well, if you're looking to do architecture, I'd say you'll do damn good. Your environments and buildings are amazing. As far as having no inborn talent, I'd say that's dead wrong. You definitely have an imagination and a good imagination goes hand in hand with talent. I'd say that I started from "absolute zero" and now I'm just barely above zero... haha... But, what makes a lot of my drawings interesting is the imagination behind them, not the drawing skill... Do you use a lot of photo reference?

TheGreatMC In reply to Papposilenos [2009-06-01 15:34:11 +0000 UTC]

Well, even my imagination had to be build from scratch-----it was way easier for me to do that, as my home is clogged with books of all sorts---that way, the only thing inherent in my case is a library that serves me as an artificial imagination of sorts. Reading books and trying to imagine how it all looks like is what was the motor of my imagination.

In other words, I have no inborn talent, but I was lucky enough to find myself surrounded by all sorts of items that can compensate for that lack. I cannot simply fuse something out of some inborn feature of mind, all you see here was carried out as if it was gradual scientific research.

Well if this is just scientific research I'd say it's going very well so far... Well it seems like you have a very educated and scholarly approach to your art which I completely respect. Its cool that you had a whole library to imagine from... if I ever have kids hopefully I'll have a great collection of books by the time they learn how to read...

That's some awesome detail you have there. About how long did this take?

This one is at least 1,5 year old, so its quite hard to tell how long it took to finish this...though at that time it took me usually 2,5 hours to deal with drawing in this size (50cmX70cm).
