Luckily Sega said that Sonic Boom "will not replace the original series" and that they aren't connected. Boom is a totally seperate series and modern Sonic will continue (just for people who don't know)

aww The Sonic from Sonic X was soo much better in my opinion, he was sooo cool back then. I don't mind the Sonic of Sonic boom, there are times where he said and did something clever and awesome..most of the times he's kinda boring -_-
