this is all true guys, "Sonic adventure" was gonna have the classic characterscheck em out:

but because of the consoles change from the sega saturn to the dream cast and Yuji Naka thinking that classic Sonic's look and style is not 3D material, they had to change everything including the game style and the character's looks
also there was a teaser logo for the game that showed a green eyed Sonic if you guys remember:

I actually already did know the classic look was going to be Sonic's appearance in Adventure 1, which also explains all the classic artwork in Sonic's Pinball table, Casinopolis.

Still say the Saturn version being cancelled was the reason behind this *Sonic Jam still had the Classic look * to be fair they wanted to give the Dreamcast a new look and that pizza guy Sonic was it!! XD

It's kinda sad that Sega had no confidence in the design and appeal of own mascot that had so much acclaim at the time. I mean, I don't mind what they went with, but it makes me feel weird because Sonic's rival didn't have to change his appearance at all for the transition to 3D and people still loved it. In fact, I think more simplified graphics and design would have benefited Adventure much more in the long for a couple of reasons, but, that's a whole 'nother argument.
Just how I feel personally when looking on this in retrospect.

hey this is cool and all actually its really comical! but its racist the way you made Yuji Naka have the obvious accent and unnecessary "U"s in places, which was a disappointing twist to this otherwise funny comic.

It's not intended to be discrimination; just an imitation of the way that guy talks. You see this all the time in the Archie comic with characters such as Bunnie (Southern US) and Antoine (France). Both are stupid, silly, somewhat inaccurate, and stereotypical, but it's in not discriminating people of that background (just to give an idea of what they would sound like, according to the writer).

Well, unfortunately, that is not true in the case of Japanese people. I have to point out the fact that throughout U.S. history, it has been especially more prominent to discriminate against people of Japanese origin. Throughout the 1940's comics and other popular media portrayed them as "stupid and talking in this-u way-u and being dumb and indecisive in their decisions(as well as many other visual stereotypes that would be useless to mention without proper examples)". Fast forward to modern day. This harmful stereotype still exists in its changed shapes and forms. The stereotype of the "bad Asian driver" for example has come to be because of this time as well as the stereotype of "they talk funny so they must have no clue what I'm saying" stereotype. Perpetuating these harmful stereotypes is not okay when it wrongly effects people from that nation or origin. It may make it harder for one individual to get a job, or another from buying a house in a certain community due to their ethnicity or the way that they speak. This in turn makes it wrong to make fun of other races that have been harmfully discriminated against (i.e. Arabic people, Black people, Hispanic people, etc.). The only real reason its more okay to make racial stereotypes about the races you mentioned is because those people are white and therefore still have privilege that is not given to People of Color. Being able to notice and call out things like this for their harmful stereotyping is something that needs to happen more often to stop the harmful discrimination against these People of Color and those who are on the wrong side of the constant racial stereotyping that happens all throughout modern society as we know it.

I don't know what this "People of Color" organization is that you mentioned, but you should know that your argument is suggesting that this organization be excluded from a harmless joke that all people get to enjoy regardless of background. Therefore, I could say that you're ironically supporting inequality.
By your logic, I myself should be complaining that "people have been racist to me" for my entire life because they have used the same joke to describe how I speak.
But no. Instead of whining and innacurately calling them "racist" for it, I simply do the same to them and even enjoy teaching them how to properly speak with my own accent.
It's all fun, and although it is a little stereotyped (and nothing more), the intention of it is for humans to have fun exploring and learning about a minor difference that they have in pronunciation. Heck, even Japanese people do this when describing westerners all the time in their animations.
