So yes. I have been obsessed with CATS the musical since childhood and for those that think it's not that great of a musical I could care less. It's all about the overall artistic experience from watching it and the fun memories surrounding it. I love every thing about the musical from the literary roots and characters, the music and dancing right down to the costumes and makeup. So in honor of my long running obsession I have begun a series where I draw each cat in my style and try to capture their unique personalities. And yes, I mean even the chorus cats. So everyone will get the spotlight. Even the characters traded in and out between different productions such as Sillabub.

First I figured I'd start up with Munkustrap since he gets the first line. I have always loved him though he wasn't my favorite; he is just the most memorable and he does have a gorgeous design! He is the protector and the educator of the audience and kittens. Since he doesn't have a song about him I instead chose music where he sings. The other cats will either have speedpaints that have their song, or songs during which they appear. For the chorus cats I'll see what I can do...using instrumentals anywhere I can. Hopefully everyone will get a speedpaint but maybe not. I also used some new techniques on this one and am VERY happy with how it came out.
