i loved the contrast and the use of colors but i think that it should of been even darker and the left character should of had her hand lower, it's not really photogenic having her hand covering her face like that, maybe turning to the center character, having more focus on her.

besides, AWESOME!

It looks great.
The only thing I can't help but notice is that they won't see much the way they hold their lanterns. That's why lanterns often use blinds to create directional light.
I know that it would be hard to change that, since you need the light to make their faces so distinct. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if the fron character didn't hold the lantern exactly at the height of her eyes though.

Hi, I have painted before, using photoshop and artrage 3, but nothing like the pictures on deviantart, please can you help, I just want to ask a few questions, so I can get some work on my page, What size do you set your canvas ?
Whats the dpi you use ?
what software do you use ?
What brushes do you use in your work ?

thanks very much for your help.

I paint at 300 dpi. If you scroll up, you will see the text telling you I use Photoshop and Painter, and if you look around my gallery a bit, there are several walkthroughs.

For some reason, this piece reminds me of the 1970s Scooby Doo series, with the gang always wandering around in old museums and such.

I really love how realistic this looks, and the glow of the lamps is warm and believable, especially against the statues in the background. (= Very nice job!

Brilliant, great job. The warm colors in the immediate glow of the lamp contrast so nicely to the colder tones of the background.

This looks great, Nicole. The pieces on the plinths do remind me of Tic-Toc and the Dodo. Well done on the clothing; especially the ladies' footwear. Their shoes/boots remind me of those worn by my great-grandmother.
