Haha, I can imagine what that girl's gonna think when she wakes up...
And no...this isn't based off of my username...I just felt like doing a black dragon protecting something (his front hands/paws/etc. look cool that way.
So, anyways, I did most of the drawing on paper (it's really a pencil drawing colored with Photoshop)...plus I just became a member of the Black Dragon Club, so I was inspired to do one.^_^ Oh yeah, I entered this in Black Dragon Club's contest...(on their journal)...^_^

I drew the dragon out on paper, (including the scale pattern), then scanned it in, added a color beneath it, etc. the only digitized portions are the backgrounds and color.

exellent work, The coloring came out very well. She's prolly not gonna be in the most cheery mood when she wakes up, but then again I would consider her very fortunate she inspired such protection...lol.
