This is cool, with all the strands whipping around. i had questions about your process. What software do you use? Do you work from drawings or develop forms in software? Do you use bitmap or procedural textures? Simply curious.

thanks for the interest!
an answer for this image would be that I started off with the idea to make an olympic swimmer by playing around with ZSpheres in ZBrush. Then I took a mesh into 3DS max and fiddled. When I attempted to add arms I fiddled some more and decided that it looked more like an olympic discus thrower.
I guess that I don't really know what I'm doing at all. These really are only experiments after all. I would like to follow a concept much more closely but thats not the way I work.
Then I take it back into ZBrush for some higher res sculpting and texture it using Polypainting, create GUV's in ZB on a lower mesh and take the high res (1m polys) into Maya for lighting and Mental Ray. There are a lot of other steps inbetween but thats the general gist. If you like I could note you both with more details - spread the knowledge and all that.
Mostly I look at peoples explainations on ZB Central or CG Talk, and I have been following a lot of Digital Tutors DVD's.
