By the way, just to let you know, it was implied in MK11 that Cassie Cage has a boyfriend.
More specifically, during one of the text message intros that can appear BEFORE in-game fights, one of the people she's replying to is implied to be her boyfriend.
Only thing is that the specific identity of her boyfriend is never known because all we get about him is a username.
I'm bringing that up because for some reason this deviation kinda reminds me of that MK11 revelation since my fan theory for this image is that her boyfriend shows up to protect her, mirroring Johnny Cage protecting Sonya Blade.
