HISTORY
Danilo is born an only child to the House of Qassim, the rulers of the Emirate of Seleucia (named after the Seleucid Empire, in modern-day Iraq). Being the only son and heir, Danilo is caught between a rock and a hard place. Past incidents in Seleucia have greatly reduced the number of males in the country, and Danilo is expected to serve the priesthood as every young boy. Being the only child in legal succession, Danilo was groomed to be heir right from the beginning. However, despite these high expectations from him, Danilo does not seem to bother, which can frustrate his tutors at various times. Even though he picks up the skills fast, he never bothers to hone or polish them, something seen as unacceptable as heir. Although threats to disinherit him have been issued from time to time, it is his talent that had prevented turning threats into actions, though the patience of men have limits.

Danilo is well-traveled by our standards, having been sent around the emirates of the Southern Continent to learn a few things. Since youth, Danilo had traveled to Perea (Michaela's homeland), the Southern Emirates and the Levantine Emirate (Sarina's homeland). However, despite learning their respective crafts, his lazy attitude remains, and this has caused some problems, particularly with Sarina. Only time will tell if this might affect later events, when both Danilo and Sarina ascend to their respective thrones.

PERSONALITY
In appearance, Danilo appears quite the opposite of the image expected from him. Danilo is seen as lazy and unwilling to even lift a finger to write, despite his training. Carefree and laid-back, Danilo would prefer to chill out and enjoy himself over staring at paperwork. However, despite how he appears, Danilo is noted to be very perceptive and a very quick learner. One example is simply looking at some imported scrolls from Quanzhou (in the East) and then integrating them along with his magic training to create his own unique fighting style. His lack of motivation can be attributed that no matter how well he does, everyone around him is going to keep asking for more, so he stopped bothering in order to lower the standards expected from him.

ABILITIES
Despite being lazy and laid-back, Danilo is gifted with a tremendous amount of magus potential. Danilo's people are blessed with the power of the Moon, so they have a strong affinity with the water element. Danilo's fighting style differs from most mages, preferring to throw himself into the fray. Forgoing long incantations of powerful spells, Danilo prefers casting a series of short yet practical spells of either damage or enhancement. This is possible with the martial arts style he picked up from an Eastern scroll which he read (and later adapted).

The name 'Danilo' is a variant of the Hebrew name 'Daniel', which means 'God is my judge'.
