I really should not be drawing at 5 or 6 in the morning, but I had to get this design up on paper somehow.

This character's name is Oriax, and she is a garuda, a race of primals with avian features. Garudas are native to Hinomoto, located near a active volcanic region. Although they appear humanlike, their wing-like ears distinguish them from baseline humans. While humans and garuda generally live in harmony, garudas prefer to keep to themselves, and only a select few humans, usually women, ever get to interact with a garuda. Most of these women eventually become mikos, serving as spiritual advisers to humans as well as spellcasters, mainly in the fire element due to the influence of the garudas.

I know most would ask why I did not call them tengu, mainly due to kanji. When read literally, tengu means "heavenly dog", which is a grave insult to these garuda, since they claim descent from a bird-like creature. As for Oriax herself, I kind of want to lean her on being a snappy type, since I already have a voice in mind (Ayane Sakura, the voice of a certain Suzuka Dairenji from Tokyo Ravens, who is an influence on her).

Anyway, that's all I got. Perhaps in time, I will do a much better drawing than this.
