The third print to be sold at AB in a few weeks. This time we have something on the more spiritual side.

Cernunnos is the Horned God of Wicca. Often depicted as a stag or the "Golden Stag". He represents the sun, life, death and rebirth, is the son of the Goddess, her lover, and the father to himself (sound a little familiar?). He is the Oak King of the new or present year, and the Holy King of the waning or passing old year. His story is confusing to some, but Christianity mirrors it almost perfectly. He is our bringer of the sun and the rebirth of Spring.

I have him here walking into the woods from a meadow, with the full moon ( a common symbol of the Mother Goddess) looking like it is cradled within the antlers of the great king. He gives off a golden light (the light of the sun) and life sprouts where ever his hooves touch ground ( moss on front hooves and leaves sprouting forth).

Perhaps I will make this into a bookmark down the road. What do you all think?
