Description
This took a total of about 40 hours to complete, 75% of that time was the background itself.

The background was done all in Photoshop CS4, no sketching ahead of time at all.

The animals were sketched and inked out on paper first, but all coloring was done in Photoshop, much like my usual works.

I am extremely proud of this piece, and will be getting it printed out and framed for my family members, as this is their Christmas gift this year. Each one will get a copy, so that no matter the distance, the family will always be together in spirit.

To clarify it for you all, I will make a list of who is who, tho the wolf should be obvious

the stag: my father
the doe: my step mother
the grey fox: my little brother
the white moose: my uncle Doug (inside family joke with this)
the swans: my aunt
the ram, or bighorn sheep: my favorite uncle who I barely see
the male cougar(sitting up): my step brother
the female cougar(laying down): my step brothers girlfriend
the orange tabby cat: my cousins husband
the Russian blue cat: my cousin
the golden eagle: my grandfather
the butterfly: my step sister
the white spirit wolf: myself

This is the start of a new way of creating semi-realistic backgrounds for me, and i'm very pleased with the result. Critiques are welcome, but please remember this is for family only, so no asking for print copies.
