Thank you for the compliment! I'm so happy you liked the background. It was a bit difficult for me so I'm glad my efforts were appreciated <3

Thank you ^^ You should check out the original comic. It's a lot darker than this though!

OMG this is so incredibly sweet and beautiful, thank you a TON for this lovely surprise!! ;v; I'm not just impressed at the fact you went the extra-mile and created a super lovely and very tender scene, but I'm also thrilled to get fanart of Mom! ^^ it was certainly unexpected and I love it so much. I adore how you managed to do their interaction, it looks incredibly sweet. Both of them look beautiful, and the BG is stunning! as for the shading, it looks really neat as well so you did great by keeping it! in fact, I really like both versions. You truly caught me off guard, I love everything about this!
And YES!! the patiente was very well worth the wait ^^ thank you so much!
And please, don't change anything! I adore it ='D the only nitpick would be that Fawn!Awka is not spotted, as the huemul is the only cervid whose fawn shares coloration with the adult, but this is a minor detail really, as it's a characteristic that only occurs in this species so it's very easy to miss. So please dobn't change it! ^^

Awka's mother clearly would do anything to protect her child, and I think she would be so proud of her now that she's all grown up. I wanted to draw Awka running a bit awkwardly with her eyes on what lays ahead for her, much like she seems to do in the comic (I see her stumbling into situations but trying to make the best of it all in hopes of a bright future!) while her mother, rather than looking ahead, is looking at her daughter who she loves. Awka is smiling because being a fawn is just a happy experience, but her mother is smiling with pride and some humor. She sees her daughter doesn't yet have the same graceful stride as she has, but she knows that Awka is getting better and will continue to get better! You didn't have a reference for her that I could find but I did my best to give her her proper coloration from what I could discern from the nighttime scene; Awka's colors should be accurate to her reference, which I used when making this. I also paid attention to the sloped deer faces you draw for muzzles and the big noses; I love them and wanted to draw them as best I could!
I'm also very glad you like the background and shading. I did my best ^^ I'm so glad you like it.
I can take those spots off if you'd like, it really wouldn't be much trouble. In the panel with fawn!Awka, I had assumed she had grown out of those baby spots by the time that part of the comic happened. I did not realiz that huemul are devoid of spots. That's very interesting! To be honest, I didn't know huemul were even a type of deer before your comic! c= This makes it slightly sadder for me though since that means AWKA REALLY WAS STILL A BABY AT THAT TIME WITH HER MOM IN THE COMIC AAA POOR AWKA i love her

Thank you so much <3 One of my favorite things to do when reading or watching something is to try to understand why a character does the things they do. I use their actions to understand their motivations, and their motivations to understand them. Even though Awka's mother only spoke once in your comic, what she said told me that she is likely--or, was likely, a lot like her daughter. Very spunky, very smart, very tough. She thought she could outrun One-Eye because she had "done it before" after all. I imagine that she was very protective of her little daughter, and would be so very proud of how Awka has grown up and become a smart, tough doe!
It makes me very happy that you love it <3 I guess I'll keep it as is. Maybe it will help other people who look at it to understand that she is supposed to be a fawn since that's such a commonly known thing about baby deer (though it would be funny if people started trying to correct me on fawns having spots, if I removed them!) and anyone who loves your comic and clicks on this might read these comments and learn that Awka was still a baby in that scene despite not having spots! So maybe it works out for the best c=
Haha it's totally fine! I am glad you remembered me though <3 I'll look forward to seeing myself get included in the picture. Be sure to click the 'notify watchers of this edit' box when you change the image so I will have it show up in my feed, okay? <3 It makes me feel really special that you want to include me in that.
