Description Here is my dragon character Cynder Wildhorn the Guardian of Forests. I have started experimenting with back grounds now. This one turned out alright, but I am still having second thoughts about it. Meh you need to start somewhere I guess.

The first thing I did was write out a description of her, then I illustrated her in photoshop.

My friends and I are getting started on a graphic novel inspired by White Wolfs Abberent roleplaying books.
Enjoy!

Thanks to Rich who gave me his old tablet!

Here is the text that would go along with the picture.

And lo, the great beast looked at me, orange eyes glowing like that of autumn leaves and sultry sunsets. A surprisingly expressionistic muzzle flashed rows of ebon teeth, hard and sharp like daggers. Her tongue was forked and often flickered in and out as she observed her surroundings. Her mouth was always in constant up-turned smile, one that could express great happiness and became terrifying grimace when searing flames erupted out between her fangs. Six horns, twisted gracefully like drift wood, swept back on her arrow shaped head. Tufts of feather like scales sprouted on the cheeks and covered the long gracefully arched neck like a mane. Great powerful wings sprouted majestically from her shoulders, they were covered in durable blend between scale and feather, color faded from forest green to a dusky gold. Rows of boney spikes that ran down to the tip of her long muscular tail, the webbing between them only revealing itself when they stood on end. Her great slender form was covered in faceted gems shaped like leaves that caught the rays of the sun, displaying shades between emerald and azure, all tipped with flecks metallic bronze. Rows of larger scales, hard as steel and shimmered like polished bronze, protected her under belly and ran along side the spikes on her back. Her limbs where also sheathed with these bronzed plates from toe to hip.

Her presence was of that a lion and serpent, combining both strength and cunning. She smelled of rain and her talons where the color of ebony. She walked like some great cat, well formed muscles rippling under the scales, tail held high and parallel to the ground as it swayed with poised control. Her foot falls were nearly silent, only being betrayed by the click of talons upon the hard stone. Every where she stepped plant life sprang up, rejoicing in her company. When she spoke there was a duality between quiet rumbling and a mirthful feminine voice. She was friend to both flora and fauna and truly the voice and champion of mother earth.

Very beautiful! I love all the details and colouring. The broader strokes of the background create a really nice depth of field making your dragon stand out.

Glad you think so. I never thought of it that way about the contrast between the broad strokes and the tight detail. Thanks for pointing that out!

You're welcome. I spend way too much time trying to get that effect on macro shots with my camera, otherwise I might not have noticed.
