I FINALLY FINISHED IT. After a zillion long hours working none stop. D:
But I do like the way it turned out so I'm happy. :3
Although my camera killed it. The original painting is way better than this photo.
This is an acrylic painting done on 14 by 18 white canvas.

May I ask how you structure you paintings? do you do the back ground first? then paint on top? and how do you do the lines? do you colour them last? or do them then colour it in? o:

Honestly, I'm pretty weird when I paint. XD You're supposed to start with the back first and work up to the foreground but instead I do the lines first, after the sketch. Because if I do the background fist, the anatomy looks weird and it's a lot harder to make the animals look good. This is probably due to the fact that I'm still new to painting so I'm still trying to get the hang of it. But yeah, I do the sketch, then the lines. After that, I do the background is steps before finally going in and colouring and shading the characters. c: The lines have to be re-done a bunch on time throughout because the background/colouring will cover them. Like I said, I'm still pretty new to painting. Maybe someday I'll learn how to paint with the background first LOL.
But at least my process still works for now. ;D

Yup. c: And hmmm lets see... I have the three primary colours (red, blue, yellow) and then I have black, white, three shades of brown, and purple, which is really hard to make LOL.
I use acrylic by the way. Level 2, with a few level 1s because they're cheapest.

This is a very nice painting. The color is good, evocative of autumn and an interesting balance of warm and cool colors. It's been some time since I drew a wolf, but the proportions look right to me. You did well adding expression to their faces. They really look like they are full of joy. I think it would make the picture more interesting if the poses of the two didn't mirror each other. Then again you could make the argument that having them in unity underlines their connection.

i have to say, this is my absolute most favorite picture in your entire gallery.
because first off, it's traditional, and god do i love your traditional pieces; plus it's paint which makes it even more beautiful.
second, it's a fall scene, fall scenes and winter are my favorite and ugh you captured their poses and everything so well, it's so gorgeous. ;;
