The wearer will be able to form coherent thoughts for a day or two depending on their willpower after which their mind is clouded by their primal instincts, all the while transforming the wearer to a wolf like beast. After the ring has been put on, its wearer will not want to remove it and the wearer will not let anyone else try to do so either, even if it means putting their own life at risk. Crafted by a wizard with the ill intent to create a group of beasts to do his bidding, who later found out that he wasn't able to control the creature he had created and thus only one of these rings was ever made. The ring always finds itself to the fingertips of an unwary adventurer either when someone kills the rings previous owner or when it finds its way to the hands of an unwary merchant, thus repeating the cycle. The ring itself looks quite similar to a regular silver ring with a magnificent ruby on top of it, making its identification difficult and when someone puts it in their hand, it is already too late.
