Description This is the seventh and final page in a short sequential art project with (pencils) and (colors).

The series is called 'Olympus Inn,' and the basic premise is taking the pantheon of the ancient Greek gods and transposing them into the modern hotel industry. Zeus and Hera own the place, Poseidon is the pool maintenance guy, Hermes is a delivery boy, Dionysus the bartender, etc. It was a lot of fun to write, and hopefully it will be funny even to those who aren't familiar with all the myths being referenced. I suppose I could explain some of the jokes if need be. The piece is seven pages long, and we will be correcting some minor errors in the very near future.

Again, Apollo is great. I love Zeus' "Freebird!"

All in all, really cute stuff. I love all the references (and the fact that I got 'em). Just wish we coulda seen Demeter, Ares, or Artemis. But I'll take what I can get.

I loved this comic! Great job on the script--the amount of little details you put in (Poseiden betting on horses, the muses of tragedy and comedy, Apollo's cow bag) are hilarious. Great job on updating the characters. I love mythopoesia.

This is very inspiring, i'm trying to gather some people to help out with a modern greek myth project as well. ^^ I love the little things connected to the old myths, like Athena being a headache to Zeus. *chuckles* Nice writing, and of course the drawings are good ~QueenOfTheCute does really cool stuff, i suck at backgrounds myself...more like i'm lazy.lol

If you would like to work on more greek myth stuff we have one open for discussion ^^

Awesome work here
I know some mythology, so I got a laff here and there. Aphrodite and Hermes were my favorites, hands down.

Megan did a great jod with the penciling, her still is wonderfully and she is great with anatomy.

If you're willing to answer what class is this project for?
I'm planning on going to an art school when I graduate...

Thanks! This was an idea I had brewing for a while, but it was for a Mythology class that we actually pulled it off. The assignment was an incredibly generic "creative assignment" deal, where we had to show the knowledge we had gained of mythology through a creative interpretation--but beyond a few very basic guidelines, it was up to us. And you've seen the result! Mainly, we wanted to create something that would have a life outside of our little class, and I think it definately does. I just can't wait to see Megan start drawing #2!

Just finished reading this at QueenOfTheCute's page and LOVED it. I think the part that had me giggling the most was Zeus yelling "FREEBIRD!" *cackles* I think I relieved every high school talent show I ever experienced. The whole thing was brilliant, though. The modernized roles where both perfectly appropriate and hilarious. Great job. :applause:

Thank you! I just responded to somebody else who loved the Freebird line, I guess everybody's been there at some point. You have to jump a lot deeper into the mythology for many of the other jokes, but hopefully those are accessible for people who aren't as familiar with the source material, as well (and I'm still waiting for somebody who's actually read "Of Human Bondage" to completely get that one). I'm glad you enjoyed the comic, though, and thanks again!

Thanks! Yeah, I think we've all seen 'that guy' at the back of the crowd who won't stop yelling...of course, I wouldn't think it was as funny if I didn't love my skynyrd, too. The expression Megan pulled off just kills me, though, I think the body language really carries or exceeds the jokes in every case. Thanks for commenting--I'm really glad you liked it!
