Just a quick doodle of Marco...crying. Should've spent more time on it, but I got super lazy.There's something I've been wondering about ever since I found out about Marco's powers. He's a phoenix, and in Japanese, that's called "fushichou", which literally translates to immortal bird...so does that mean, Marco has the ability to regenerate without dying ever?! That would absolutely suck! Especially now, since he's lost so many people near and dear to his heart. And this pic represents that. Even after everyone he loves is long gone, Marco would suffer...alone. That would be absolute hell!
And oh! What if he doesn't age because of his ability, and he's actually older than Papabeard. That would be so weird, but touching too I guess because that would mean Papa accepted him as his son no matter what the circumstances.
Wow. Listen to me ramble about ridiculous things. I'll stop before I completely embarrass myself.

I really like how this turned out, and I love the theory of Immortal!Marco.
There's someone on fanfiction.net that I talk to and read her work, and she has a couple of theories for Marco's Devil Fruit. Immortality is one of them. Another one has something to do with being immortal in the sense of being never forgotten. They're pretty awesome stories.
But anyway, I've always like the idea of an immortal Marco and I think this picture does a great job showing some of the emotions that would go along with that.

It would suck being immortal. I mean, everytime you form a special bond with the people you care about, they eventually fade away. How sad, but I think Marco's too much of a sweetheart to not find people to protect and love.
I should really start reading stories on fanfiction.net again. I submitted a story a few weeks back, but I haven't read anything in quite a while. Hmmmm...and oh! I read your fanfic. It's very interesting, and Marco dancing made me squee!

I agree with you. It would SUCK to be immortal and if that's the case for Marco, that just makes me want to cry...
The two stories I've read with Marco like that are by Aoihand. They are absolutely amazing and they address SO many emotions that go with Immortality and all that.
And thank you for checking out my story. I'm glad you've liked it. I've added a chapter since then, but I'm really glad you liked the part with Marco dancing. After I saw what you drew, I just couldn't say 'no' to the image in my head. lol

Yeah, I must say though that in One Piece, it's really hard to tell people's ages. Blackbeard's only 38?! I thought he was easily in his late 40's-50's. And for Marco's sake, I hope he does age and does die when his time comes because that would be such a tragic life.

Really. The ages are so damn confusing. I thought Mihawk was at least 10 years younger than he is...meh. He looks good for 40, and Croc looks REALLY good for 44.

Definitely! I want Marco to live a normal life and then die when he's ready to go. I'd really like for him and the other commanders continue being the WB pirates in honor of their father. It would be awesome if they could go around from island to island and continue protecting those places that were once protected by Whitebeard's name but are now being terrorized by evil pirates.
