Oh...My...God! Miracles do exist!Right now in Japan, they're doing this thing called "One Piece Strong Campaign." It was announced in the 31st issue of Shonen Jump, and details can also be found on their Toei website [link] You can enter some contest and try to win some prizes. And 3 characters are being featured: Luffy, Ace, and Shanks...and...they're all in Strong World suit form!!!!! And Ace and Shanks were designed by Oda himself! I never thought that those two could become any hotter, but Oda-Sensei has done it. Damn! I want to enter the contest just to get those clear files!
Ace is what truly made me squee. The open shirt, the long jacket, two guns, the Whitebeard belt, and the slightly flared pants! Oooh...it's all so perfect, so I had to draw him.
Hope some of you are excited about this as much as I am! I darn nearly had a fangirl heart attack when I found this out.
By the way, on a totally unrelated note, the color schemes of the Whitebeard Pirates for the upcoming Marineford arc have been revealed on their website as well. Apparently, Marco now wears a purple shirt. And probably what is most surprsing is that Thatch now has brown hair instead of blonde. Go take a look![link]

Well, the gist of it is a campaign called One Piece Strong Campaign. People can enter a contest(basically answering a survey), and there are several prizes that can be won (ie. a tip to Hawaii, DVD's, games, etc). Luffy, Ace, and Shanks are basically the mascots of the campaign, and Oda designed all of them himself. If you don't win the main prizes, you still get the chance to win the clear file set of Ace and Shanks in their outfits...which is the thing I most want! All that sounds wonderful and dandy, but you have to live in Japan to enter it, which totally makes sense. A person did have the guts to ask me to enter the campaign for them because they couldn't understand the content on the page(even though I had no intention to enter it myself (I'm not going to cheat the system), and I live in America so I couldn't enter it anyway...some people are unbelievable, eh?)

Anything I buy on places like japanese amazon, I pay for myself, but my mom's been really wonderful about sending me those things that I buy online, since it's much cheaper that way than having them mail it to me directly. She's also been really gracious by buying and sending me manga that I want, so I couldn't really ask for more than that.

For the past hour or so I was on a website literally bursting with one piece merch and making a birthday/christmas list for myself XD I almost exploded when I saw figures like Law or monster chopper. why can't money grow on trees? -.- or better yet, why won't Luffy let me use his treasure tab?!

Figurines cost a lot of money, so I can't afford them. I would love to get a nice Ace one or Marco(I'm sure they'll come out with one at some point), but I can't. TT^TT I should marry an 80 year old billionaire so he can buy me OP merch! XD

I like that plan! XD And I found that if you have the patience you can pick up brand new figurines for about $7!! (Which is even better for me as its £3!) Yay for Chinese websties! It's the postage that gets me though -.-'

Yeah, but the ones I tend to want are the expensive $100(or more) ones that are really detailed. The type you often have to preorder in order to guarantee you'll get one. I'm picky I suppose, and I really shouldn't increase my stash of crap. I already have 8 full boxes of manga, and they'll soon be increasing as soon as my mom sends me the next package.
Stefan's so cute. I wish he were a real character instead of a joke character. I'm sure the Whitebeard pirates wouldn't mind cuddling with him after all of the tragic events lately.

Stash of crap! 
I like to keep my manga online, where I dont loose it ^.^ (I have a bad memory and so loose things very easily) But I have a weakness for figurines, even of characters I'm not that keen on, like Kuma or Lucci.
And heck yes! A furry friend is just what Marco needs right now, bless him. Stefan is like the dog reincarnation of Whitebeard XD

I've been reading manga for over 15 years, so it has a special place in my heart. I prefer the Japanese version, and you can't really get that online.
I just want to see Whitebeard take off his moustache and throw it like a boomerang for Stefan to catch as Oda stated in the SBS.

Wow! Thats dedication. I only have three manga books in my room - one being one piece- as my local bookshops don't stock any manga I like. (Or any popular, well-known manga for that matter!)

Some of my favorite series aren't really that popular, at least not anymore. It's probably because they're from the 80's, but I still go back to read them all through once in a while. X3 But I think my favorite will always be One Piece...at least for now. No other series has affected me as much as OP has...it actually distracts me from my RL. XD

Haha, well sometimes I think fantasy worlds are better then our own ^^ It's nice to escape into One Piece or any other manga. If I ever win the lottery I shall bribe Oda into adding me into the OP world! That's sorta the same thing.
^^ okay then! I've tried a few rough sketchs with him in, but none of that whole boomerange-mustache thing. (Please ignore the awful spelling -.-') I'm going to have Stefan feature in a few of my up coming art projects XD But not for awhile since I have so much to do all ready. (I tend to loose interest quickly and will continue another drawing for half an hour before going back to the first -.-')

Everything's expensive and cramped, but I kind of grew to like the cramped feeling when I stayed at my parents' house last summer for 2 and 1/2 months. It makes walking to places much easier, and a lot more fun. There's just more to explore, America's just too wide open to enjoy stuff like that.
I loved to just go to used bookstores like BookOff, and read their manga for hours and hours. It was so much fun.

You mean for the campaign? Ummm...I can speak Japanese fluently but my reading and writing suck...but I'll give it a shot.
Basically, it says "One Piece Strong Campaign" and tells you there are two ways to enter the contest: via internet(pc or phone) or sending a postcard. You have to provide some info about yourself(I'm guessing address and whatnot) and you have to answer their questionnaire. Then under that lists the various prizes: Grand prize is a trip to Hawaii for 2, A. prize is the log collection dvd's, B prize is Little E. Blue episodes dvd, C prize is the cd with all the opening and ending theme songs, and etc. And finally, it says that the campaign lasts from july 5-september 30...yeah, I think that's the gist of it. If you click on that rainbow-ish button, it'll take you to a page with a few more details (like if you don't win the main prizes, you could be one of the 2000 people to get the clear file set of Ace and Shanks in suits(which is what I want most!)). Then,if you click on the rainbow button at the bottom, it'll finally take you to the starting point for entering...I think that's about it.
But I took a glance at the rules, and it seems like you have to live in Japan to enter it...which makes sense, but is unfortunate for us. Hope that helped!

You have to live in Japan to enter the contest unfortunately, but that makes sense. Otherwise, they're going to have a clusterf*ck of entries to deal with. I'm sure people have already tried to abuse the system though.
I couldn't find a better pic, the one on their site is as big as you're going to get. Unless you can get your hands on the 31st issue of Weekly Jump since it was announced in there. Maybe the pic would be clearer then.

I know...Ace is my favorite OP character...I lurv him so. I will always trust Oda Sensei's decisions in the manga because they always work out in the end, but I will never give up hope when it comes to Ace's possible revival!!!! X3
