This was for a Rolling Stone movie review, for the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The critic didn't find it as "mature" or "gritty" as the Swedish original. Thus the silly tattoo

Odd comments by the Rolling Stone critic.  I personally thought that the Anglo-US version was pretty darn good, and pretty faithful to the book as well.  However I did think that the Swedish version was a bit more tightly plotted though.  FWIW I think that Roomi and Mara both did very, very good interpretations of Lisabeth.  Didn't rate the books too highly though, though it's possible they lost something in translation.  (I'm English btw)

But more to the point that is very good cartoon, and the cute dragon tattoo really had me doing a double take.  Thanks for sharing it.

I agree with the critic, the remake was doing shock for shock's sake; mindless sex, mindless everything. The Swedish version is better, no doubt. And I love your illustration.

Great art. Funny. I'm from sweden and I never understood the fuzz at all around the books. The movies was well, a bit boring and silly if you ask me but I dont realy like Swedish movies.

Thanks! From Sweden and don't like Swedish movies? Hopefully they show a lot of foreign films then, did you like the American version?

Haha, critics sometimes say ridiculous things in order to get more of a reaction. I definitely enjoyed the American version a lot. Thought Rooney Mara was pretty amazing too.

I didn't get a chance to read any of them! I heard a lot of good things though, I think every single one of my friends read the series.
