Description I took this picture at the Netherlands Open Air Museum in 2019.

The rail cleaner Rr3 was built by Schörling in Hanover in 1958 for cleaning the tram tracks in Amsterdam. The motor car is a standard type that has been supplied to many German tram companies.

However, the rail cleaner was not able to cope with the Amsterdam conditions, which meant that it was frequently in the workshop for the necessary adjustments.

In 1970 the rail cleaner was painted in the Amsterdam work car color Orange, in 1982 it was renumbered in H56, after which it went out of service in 1988.

In 1989 it was given the status of a museum vehicle and went to the Tramweg Foundation.

Due to a lack of space, the rail cleaner was stored in a barracks complex in Vught in 2002 and transferred from there in 2004 to the tram company of the open-air museum. Here the rail cleaner was completely stripped and overhauled. On August 11, 2005, the rail cleaner made its first test drive, after which it was finished.

It has now become an indispensable vehicle with many leaf fall on the traces of the open-air museum. Especially for this purpose, another construction has been devised to be able to attach a leaf blower to the front.

The rail cleaner has been given on permanent loan by the Tramweg Foundation.
