Fun Fact: Mariesa is of Mexican descent and went through quite a few changes, mostly in name. Originally, she was called Frida, the Painter in reference to Frida Kahlo. However, this was eventually changed because I preferred the name Mariesa over Frida, and because I thought the reference was too on the nose. She has a half-sibling who is the key to restoring a true Butterfly to the throne during Star's time, and her attire is based on traditional Mexican clothing, as was the fashion during the time she ruled. Her middle name is Isabella.
