This is a larger companion box to the little Gothic Box that I did a while back. I made this one as a Christmas gift for a friend of mine. I used a little gothic border along the sides and edges and sort of made up a little gothic rosette in the middle, all of which (coupled with the soft red-cherry color) actually makes me think more of Moorish arabesque kind of decorations rather than gothic. Ah well. I'm fairly happy with the results and enjoyed getting more chip-carving practice in, as I haven't done anything since I finished the other box back in April.
