Operation:Enduring Resistance 3 of 3
Operation:Enduring Resistance had finally reached its bloodied conclusion, after seven long days of unforgiving combat British forces could advance no further. After a mass of Chimeran reinforcement arrived from the European theater British High Command was forced to abandon all notions of successfully concluding Operation:Enduring Resistance and called for a general withdraw back to pre-prepared defensive lines that stretched from Ipswich to Bristol. However the order had come too late and the entirety of the British Army now found itself pursued by a massive Chimeran counter attack that threatened to annihilate the bulk of Army Group center as they abandoned the city which they had fought so hard to secure. In a desperate move, volunteer blocking detachments had been formed with the intent of stalling the enemy advance long enough to get the regiments back to friendly lines, these units were never expected to survive. They would hold to their last bullet, their last hand-grenade and if need be, fix bayonets all to grant their friends and comrade the time they desperately needed.
In the end Operation:Enduring Resistance would fail in its ultimate goal of removing the Chimeran threat from British soil, regardless British High Command would label it a strategic victory, the Chimeran menace had been forced to give up significant swaths of territory, vital war materials had been salvaged or retaken and ruffly four thousand civilians had been rescued from the occupation zone. An estimated seventeen thousand British army personal were killed throughout the course of Operation:Enduring Resistance men Britain would struggle to replace. The following weeks would be relatively quiet as British Raid tactics exacted a heavy toll leaving Chimeran forces unable to mount any large scale offensives, leading to the war entering its first lengthy stalemate.
