The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), also known as the green turtle, black (sea) turtle or Pacific green turtle, is a species of large sea turtle of the family Cheloniidae. It is the only species in the genus Chelonia. Its range extends throughout tropical and subtropical seas around the world, with two distinct populations in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, but it is also found in the Indian Ocean. The common name refers to the usually green fat found beneath its carapace, not to the color of its carapace, which is olive to black.

Aww, how precious! I love turtles anyway, all sizes too. When I drive somewhere and see them on the road or highway, in Spring and Summer, I always stop to pick them up and take them across the road in the direction they are traveling.

Aww how sweet of you , here also sometimes they travel to big water body , most of the time i spot them in morning while my photoshoot routine , so i pick them and drop to the near by canal . here we have big brown turtle don't know the accurate name of the specie.

I love nature too and try to help where I can without hurting anything. I was raised on a farm so I was around a lot of domestic animals and a lot of wild ones too when I was a kid and I love animals so much. I believe we should be stewards and protect animals and the earth, trees, water, plants, our air; really our mother planet.
