Description Well, here we are! Another update in a short amount of time!
Admittedly, both these drawings are rather old. Especially the Lindt one (left).
I drew these character design sketches for my and 's latest story plan: Curiosity's Curves 4.
A planned 3 parter meant to give us a closer at the background of Lindt Kirsa who wasn't always the jolly fat cat girl we know today!

I'd like to apologize to anyone who thinks it is distracting how this is two different pictures side by side but only one is full body. I simply didn't feel like making Cow girl into a full-body picture. Was afraid I'd mess it up. lol
I know I find it a bit distracting myself! heh

Of course, you are hereby sentenced to read the first part, located here: [link]

LINDT KIRSA (LEFT)

As the older sketch then it is a bit "out-dated" by comparison. The quick shading style left a lot to be desired but it does it's job, no?

This is a younger Lindt, back when she was in school. We figured that it would be interesting to make her into a shy girl who lacks friends but wants to one day have many friends. You will have to read doc's story to get a better input into her character but I can tell you what I was thinking with the design.

Since this Lindt lacks confident but is still a brilliant science geek then I figured she'd be a bit disorganized. Note the messy hair and the accidentally wearing not-so-fitting socks. lol
And the not-so-fitting/ugly pink crocs or whatever it's called!

Of course, since people don't tend to wear the same clothes all the time then I don't think Lindt does wear her clothes like that all the time but I think this is a good representation of her usual school outfit. hahaha

Originally there were two versions; glasses and without but doc convinced me that the stereo-typical glasses for a geek look would work the best. lol
That should make some of you guys happy!

The tie and the tool-bag were something I felt would fit her and break up the classic school girl stereotype look. That and a skirt that actually isn't a mini but a proper skirt! lol

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this rendition of Lindt. After all, in Curiosity's Curves 4 we shall be seeing her grow! Yes, the pun was on purpose!

COW GIRL (RIGHT)

Now, this one should not feel as familiar. A new entry into the ever-growing world of Lindt and Tori (ohohoh, more puns!), this girl is actually pretty fat to begin with in CC4. However, I feel more comfortable with making the first design thin so she's more curvy and sexy kind of thin here. Besides, she used to look like this before (TEASER?!). hahaha

Her backstory and character will be revealed later as will her actually name be. For now she doesn't have too big a role but she should play a more important role in part 2.

For her design we originally considered the clichΓ© southern cow girl but to the dismay of a certain individual *cough* *cough* then we changed her into a Aussie like characters (of course, I'm not sure if Australia, in the form we know it, exists in the L&T world!). What we needed was a certain accent and a whole lot of slang to use! haha

So we ended up with a design of the type of girl who dresses to show off her body but also carries a hat (not visible from here) and a knife (and a arm band of sorts) to remind us what kind of stereotype she might be built upon. haha

We will also explain the origin of those objects later but for now she shall remain a bit of a mystery!

Also, thanks to for giving me a few colour advises on her. haha

I hope you guys find interest in Cow girl! I certainly enjoyed making her so expect to see more if her in the future!

So there you have it! Two designs for CC4. Seems we are getting a bit more serious about the L&T stories then originally planned but there are so many things we think of that it seems to be a ever-expanding and deepening world. I hope you guys will continue to enjoy those stories as we will continue to enjoy thinking them up! lol

Well, I'm sorry but Tori isn't in this piece! lol

If you'd have read the description then it is Lindt in her younger years and a new character for the stories, "cow girl".
I've yet to publish the design of younger Tori.

Hah! That's no problem since we've been working on the next part for a while.

We work as a team on this stuff so I know the situation. Currently all he needs is my short "review" on it. Spot errors and such.
Both continuity and grammar/spelling.

So it will be up soon! Hopefully it will be worth the weight!

Oh man... That's so awesome! I love hearing how artists here collab with each other and help each other out with their work like that. I'm actually a bit jealous lol My other account is still kinda new, so no one's really seen it yet.

But it's good to hear that it's in the works. Not to sound impatient, I'm just a really big fan of your works. Yours and his.

Took me forever to reply! Sorry!

I'm glad to hear that. I felt like I should not overdo them as to turn them into clichΓ©s but enough classic traits to show what kind of characters they are.

Glad to hear it. Hopefully the second chapter (and more designs) will be out sooner or later. lol

These characters seem interesting. Now, I am going to through this out right off the bat; I am not very fond of furries/girls with animal features... This doesn't mean that I hate them, well I still hate furries, but the latter is sometimes okay if done right. An example of this is your mouse girl. She was very beautiful!

About Curiosity Curves, I have not actually read those. To be honest, I have read much from doc, only a few pages here and there. They are masterfully written, but I always believe that they need a picture to go along. I believe that is what you will be doing for this one, correct?

Now, about the designs. You definitely nailed the school girl look for Lindt (which I am have problems pronouncing the last double consonant at the end). Doc was definitely right about keeping the glasses! I think that it fits the school theme well and makes her look great (but maybe it is because I have a special place in my heart for cute girls with glasses). I do not know how I feel about the conflicting socks. On one hand, it shows that she is disorganized or very rushed. On the other hand, I think that it may go a little too far and makes her look too disorganized and more like that person you just do not want to be around because they are weird. Well, that is more so if this is her "normal" attire. If you are going for just the disorganized look, then the messy hair and tie would be fine. I know she isn't even a real person, but I felt bad for her when you called her a geek... I have been in her shoes, and it hurts. This might actually be a ploy to get the readers to feel for her in the story, and if so, it worked!

I have significantly less to say about the cow girl. Her attire is rather appropriate, considering that she is a cow girl. I do have a question though. Is that a knife/machete she is carrying? I didn't know that cow girls needed that much protection. Maybe she is going hunting for wombats? You did say that she had some Australian influence in her design. Why were you afraid to make the whole body shot? You only had the boots left to do. I can't see you messing anything up, let alone just the boots.

With all of that said, I may now have to go read the parts prior to this.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThePervertWithin In reply to themonkeydude5 [2012-03-01 12:32:47 +0000 UTC]

Glad to hear that then!

Pfft, I keep getting offended when even doc refers to them as furries at times. 10% furries (Tail and ears) does not make it a furry! Just like sharing 60% of our DNA with bananas does not make us bananas! hahaha
Mouse girl will also return sooner or later. Hopefully I will update her some day as well. She was surprisingly popular after all.

Oh, you. Requiring pictures in your reading? Like a tiny baby man! hahaha
I know the feeling, I don't read any WG fiction except Doc's. Mostly because I feel most WG stories are just 'fap material' instead of actual attempts at stories.
I am doing the designs but I don't think I will be doing a lot of scenes for them as I already have too many things to draw.

Good. Good. Sounds like I nailed it in more ways then one. The conflicting socks are SUPPOSED to make her look weird and the kind of person people ignore. THAT's one of the reasons she has no friends!
She is a geek (So am I!) and that is another reason she is lonely.
While it may be a bit forced then she is supposed to look like the girl who everyone ignores. Of course, we will later reveal a more humorous reason some people ignore her. hahaha

Indeed. Well, for now the general idea is that the knife/machete is a keep-sake of her father (Who, in a humorous light, is a total Aussie stereo type) who is still in (L&T's version of) Australia. This reasoning might change but for now it will be my official explanation. lol

Actually...I find the lower legs to be the hardest to pose. Might make her standing look awkward...and often it does when I decide to try to add the lower legs. Plus, the feet can be hell to draw in various perspectives! Especially boot feet!

Perhaps you should. Still, no-one is forcing anyone to do so. The series is just a fun brainchild by me and doc which I hope we can keep running! heh

themonkeydude5 In reply to ThePervertWithin [2012-03-01 20:05:26 +0000 UTC]

Dang... I reread my original post and I noticed at least one mistake... "I have read much from doc, only a few pages here and there." should be "I haven't read much from doc, only a few pages here and there." Sorry! This happens to me a lot. I always have so much on my mind that when something important comes up, I stop to think about that and lose my place in my original thought. I hope that that didn't make you assume that I am an ignorant fool. lol

Yeah, I pretty much feel the same way. If they just have animal ears or a tail, then I usually do not mind. Anything beyond that is a little iffy. And 60% is passing, so who knows. I might be a banana sub-species.

I like at least one picture because it shows how the author imagined the characters or a certain scene. I can picture them all I want, but that doesn't mean that it is correct. When I read a book and talk about it to others, they sometimes have a different idea of what a character looks like and such.

If you find something hard to draw, then obviously the only way to get better is to draw it. In this case, you could have drawn the feet, and if you didn't like them, just crop them out to look like this.

ThePervertWithin In reply to Cnidarian-S5 [2012-03-01 01:29:46 +0000 UTC]

hah! While that is indeed very reasonable (keeping the before and afters together) then it is a bit annoying if more people think that way.

As that means that when my thin girl drawings get only a few faves then I might not be getting positive feed back because people are waiting for the fat version? That usually just makes me think my thin drawing wasn't very good! lol

Thanks for putting it in a new perspective!

I actually plan to draw her fat for the second part of CC4. I would have drawn her fat version sooner but I'm just busy being...well...busy!

Cnidarian-S5 In reply to ThePervertWithin [2012-03-01 05:27:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, I do fave "normal" sized girls too, so if you had a drawing of a thin girl I liked and there was no prospect of a WG version I'd fave it later as well in this case. I have an odd quirk of faving a bunch of normal sized girls (or other pics, though that's rare), then faving a bunch of WG girls. When I alternate is about a page to a page and a half of similar type and it just so happens I'm on WG pic now. Sorry if that troubles you.

Also, note that I'm more likely to comment and fave on original characters than fanart. I think artists need more praise for their OC's and when it comes to fanart, even if it's a really good WG piece, there's a good chance that I won't fave if I don't like the character or never heard of the series. For characters I don't know, I often do my research before faving to see if I might like the character.

I'll be sure to keep your feelings in mind in the future as I don't want you to think that your thin girls aren't loved. Seriously, there are some people who just fave any WG piece, but I'm not one of them.

Never took to Curiousity's Curves, but yay for back stories! Might read the next one because of that. I mean, the younger Lindt is more my type. Usually I don't like glasses girls but she does have the personality type I tend to be drawn to, and I think her hair looks better this way. New girl's cool looking too, and that outfit screams perfect for a growing belly. Not into tatoos, but that's an interesting touch, so is the knife. You know, I still want to know if the ad girl for Lindt's is going to appear, so if I don't count her, cow girl might be my favorite in Lindt's world. Cow girl really came out great, upon closer look I think I see her collar bone and what looks like bra tan lines. Overall, her shading really makes her stand out and she has a nice warm vibe.

ThePervertWithin In reply to Cnidarian-S5 [2012-03-01 01:26:42 +0000 UTC]

Nobody likes Curiosity's Curves! Everybody obsesses over the Med-girls! I've come to realize that recently. haha
Of course, I must agree on I think doc did take it a bit far with the turning Tori immobile when not wearing the WG constraining clothes. I've been trying to 'stealthily' fight for a lighter Tori again. lol

Yeah, I love shy girls as well but you gotta remember that it is a story of Lindt's journey towards a more open person. So while the story will have a lot of shy moe then it will also have her become more the modern Lindt! lol
I must say that we seem to agree on the hair as well. I felt the messy hair fitted her more myself!

Indeed. That's why I designed the clothes that way. So that you can just imagine how she'd look fat in that kind of outfit haha
Well, it fits her background story a bit. Plus I did want to draw a tattoo'ed girl for once. Gotta have variation in what I draw.

I keep forgetting her. And how popular she was! I gotta ask doc if we can write her in later. Now, what kind of -animal- girl can we make her be...hmmm

Glad to hear she has a fan already! Yeah, She does have a tan there as she is a bit different kind of character then I usually do...tattoo and all that!

I'm also glad to hear that the more 'experimental' sort of colouring/Shading worked out that way! heh

Cnidarian-S5 In reply to ThePervertWithin [2012-03-01 05:51:51 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, about that, can't help loving the med girls. Think Doc said the twins were yours right? For bad girls, I liked how they came out.

Immbolie Tori was one of the reasons I decided not to try that story, though the main reasons I never caught on to Curiotsity's Curves was: 1. Lindt's too close to Tori for my tastes. Don't like her obsession to make her fat against her will and when a story gets into possible yuri mode I usually bail. 2. It's real superficial, but I just didn't like their looks. I do like anthromorphed characters, but Lindt's current design just didn't catch my attention while Tori doesn't suit me at all with the punk look and the fang tooth (for some reason those characters irk me, espeically if you see the tooth all the time).

But yes, I totally loved the ad girl, Sophie as I just looked up. Does she really have to be an animal girl? I just find it weird to make her one when she didn't appear that way originally (you can see her human ears. Unless you have her with two sets of ears like Mint from Galaxy Angel...*looks off to the side at a sign waving frantically* Oh, Idea 21612 says to make her a "guinea PIG."...Apparently not an "oink oink pig."

*ahem*

There's a lot of your old OC's I still love. I wonder how many remember Aife, the police girl, the thief, and the F.A.T. officer. If could, I'd use them all in a story.

That explains the rough lines and shading style.
A whole lot easier that way!

Well, me and doc have a lot of brainstorming sessions for various things so a lot of discussion and time actually went into these designs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThePervertWithin In reply to Borin23 [2012-03-01 00:40:12 +0000 UTC]

True enough. It's mostly because the only way I will get any feed-back is by drawing fat girls.
Notice this upload....45 mins and only 1 commentor and 7 faves...meanwhile any fat girl drawing I have done would have at least 3x more of both by this point.lol

Still, it is mostly the sketchy style I employed there. The lines are just cleaned up, not re-inked and the shading is applied on-top of everything. If I started drawing like that, I might speed up my drawings by a lot actually...hmmm...

Hahaha. The fact that I have known him from like at least 2008 and we talk daily does help me call him friend.
Most everything he has written, I have proofread or brainstormed with him about.
Most everything I have drawn has been error checked by him or brainstormed with me
about.

Around 2008, I believe. Here is the first one; [link]

Borin23 In reply to ThePervertWithin [2012-03-01 00:44:24 +0000 UTC]

Ah I see. That's exactly how it is if I write non-Wg stuff; it goes pretty much totally ignored. It's sad in a way.

Yeah you're right, I can kinda see that now, but that isn't a bad thing either

I wish I was that good with writing WG like he is; and he's been doing it for so long. I've been making it for a while, but it's still difficult sometimes. I'll make sure to check that series out too, thanks.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ThePervertWithin In reply to Borin23 [2012-03-01 00:58:54 +0000 UTC]

It's not just sad. It's sorta pathetic. I'm aware that we are WG artists/writers but you'd figure that people would support a writer/artist they like in all their endeavors. After all, give the regular art some feedback and it is more likely it will strengthen the 'regular' WG art/stories.
I'd rant summoar but then it would be a waste of time. lol

Glad to hear it. I should experiment with that style more then!

Certainly, he is experienced. Plus, to crack a somewhat racist joke then he is Asian so his writing has been getting 'A's even before he started WG writing. haha...I'm a bad person!
I'll be honest and admit that I've not read a lot of stories by other WG writers... so I keep comparing his writing to non-WG fiction and 'beating him up' about various details while proofreading. Forgetting that he isn't writing for money like the pros. lol
What I think is that even a WG writer should approach his work seriously and allow his story to evolve instead of just jumping in and making a easy 'Fap story'.

Yeah, do check it out. They are certainly not as popular as the Med girls (a story I keep beating up doc about. hahaha) but they've got their own charm!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Borin23 In reply to ThePervertWithin [2012-03-01 01:06:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's right. I get kinda ticked that my other stuff is generally ignored; I really want people to think it's good, or at least help me know if there are things I could to fix, but the WG is generally most popular. But I'm okay with that to a point; even as WG, it helps me improve with writing. Some people support my normal stuff, but generally it gets like in the tens of views and very few favs while WG can reach over 1000 hits at times.

lol Writing, drawing, math, technology...what can't Asians do? I try to approach my work seriously at least as much as I can, at least by trying to give it a plot when I can, but it isn't usually really big and expansive stuff most of the time since I tend to focus on shorter stories and the like. And I usually either focus on characters people will know, or like to be different and do WG or the like for less popular or less known series and characters as a way to introduce them to people, among other things.

Maybe I can get some pointers on how to write my stuff too ha ha I haven't read that much of his work as I intended to in the past
