Okay SO
this is my entry for 's Tim Burton OC contest.
Early on, I was having some motivational issues with this, cuz there are tons of amazing entries that are totally gonna kick my butt. I don't expect to win, but I knew I'd regret not entering, so I muscled through it. And seem to be relatively satisfied with the end result.

ANYWAY
here's a bit about the character.....
Name: Claudia
Age: 20
Race: Human (.... so far as I know)

Brief Background: She was born an only child into a wealthy family in Victorian London, and her early childhood was spent in a very large manor house. Her parents were killed in a fire that burned down said house (Mr. and Mrs. Baudelaire style) when she was four, and since then she has been living with her grandfather on the other side of the city. She grew to love him like a father, and she considers him a very good friend.
Her ability to communicate with spirits began when she was about seven. They appear to her as glowing birds, and they talk to her (though anyone else would see a plain old bird making regular old bird noises).

Personality: She's rather socially awkward, since she stays inside all day talking to her birds (there's an entire room for them in the house). The children in the neighborhood know her as "the bird lady." She loves to read, is a terrible cook, and can often be found singing to herself.

Anyway, I've taken a liking to this new character, so you may see more of her. I'm also toying with the idea of giving her a male counterpart.
