i have Never made a sword of foamboard.. those anger me as well.... and if i had the patience to create a sword of aluminum or steel... and i had the ability (all my tools are for wood - for accessibility to other projects ) i would.... but... sadly.. i dont... thank you for your generous compliments friend, i enjoy them immensely. The kashira for all bleach swords is the same.. and while i could probably carve one into the butt end there.. it wouldnt look good in pictures, if i was doing a project for a particular person i of course would attempt it however ... and as for it being straight... im not confident in my ability to make a curved blade as of yet... if u will look... if had the same commisions on my list for quite some time now.. because they require a curved blade.. im talking to my friend atm because he knows a way to bend the wood without cutting across the grain which would both be very good looking and would also be easier for me... but i am currently trying to get a curve to my blades as it would make them look a Lot better... thanks for ur comments friend.. i enjoyed them

i'm glad you enjoyed them^^ and i'm sorry to bother you again, but i'm trying to design a replica of the senbon zakura (sealed version) but i'm not sure how thick to make the blunt and "sharp" edges on it.... or how to make a difference in the edge thickness when working with wood for that matter. may i ask what sizes you would suggest and how to go about crafting the blade to fit those dimensions?

ok, heh.. im not sure how to give a response to this without tell u everything i do ....so... here goes... First off... go to the hardware store and buy a board that is about 3/4 of an inch in height, at least a foot or so in width, and at the very least 4 ft in length... this will also work best when u have a piece of wood that doesnt have knots.. so look for whats called prime wood... little more expensive.. but its worth it.. if u dont think so.. look what happened to my pretty benihime... Makes me cry at night... yea.... if u go to home depot i believe the piece i buy from there costs 20 bucks no big deal... ok so u have ur piece of wood... decide how big u want it... i usually go with it a little bit under 4 ft, but u know.. everyone will have their own size they like.. i suggest finding different things to try out different sizes u might feel would be right for the sword... or cutting out strips of wood so u can see exactly how long that will really be... etc... anyway... on to this.. so.. u draw the sword to the size u want (takes a bit of artistic talent.. but with screen shots and patience it can be done) **Dont Draw On The Tsuba.... ----- u make this later and slide on where u can secure it with glue or screws etc.. whatever-----** anyway... u draw it and u cut it out... i use a jigsaw for almost all my cutting.. just fyi.... when u have it... its nice to hold for a bit too hehe.. but back to business.... i usually mark how far im going to sand down to the blade before the tsuba will start needing to connect... and then i use a hand held planer to get the wood to a good .25-.5 inch size where the blade is.... benihime is .4 while sode no shirayuki is .25... just depends on ur preference... anyway... when i have that done... i use a sander to sand down the edge... (Important Note i forgot earlier... --- +*^When planing and sanding.. be sure ur doing it equal amounts on both sides.... it looks reallllllllyyyyyyyy ridiculous when u forget to do that....^*+-----) so sand down the edge to where u want.. and when thats pretty good... ull notice that ur shadow line sucks... so get some hand sand paper and sand it to where u want it... then.. create whatever u need on the handle, and if u want to do a kashira, go find someones dremel ... o last thing.... when smooting out the hilts hard edges... a router is fricken amazing... love it... sooo... if i failed to answer a question here... just tell me what else u need friend i love helping

OMG thank you! i love that you used wood! Everytime i see the foambord ones in cosplay, it just hits me, i wonder "why not use wood. one, it looks better, two, you could actually have a play-fight with wood" in any case, it looks excellent. the cord wrapping is magnificent, the tsuba looks just like the one in the manga, and the blade looks realistic. But if I may, I think you forgot to work on a kashira(butt-cap) for it. also, it looks a bit too straight. Dosen't aizen's kyoka suigetsu have a slight curvature spread evenly down its spine?(sorry, i'm both a bleach geek, and a sword collector so i sorta go into detail about this stuff)

yes, the entire thing is made of one piece of wood, (minus the tsuba.. that i made and then slide on and glued..) take a look at my other swords.. particularly benihime and sode no shirayuki, also all wood.

i see, youre quite skillful fan of Bleach series. Do you visit any meetings, or hobby groups? I would be happy to see whether you are able to make car/airlanes models..

im reading the manga serie, but dont agree with the way of thinking there. sure, alot about motivation, friendship and so, but the infinite unforgiving fighting hurts my moral feelings a bit...

i go to no meetings or groups.. i think it would be interesting to go a few times but i dont even know of any around me. so.. yea.. but as for airplanes and cars... its kinda a different skill all together, cars and stuff would be made with hand sanded balsa wood yes? this is full on power tools.. ive made models before when all the pieces were given to me, but to make something like that from scratch... that would take me a very long time to figure out how everything fit.... not saying i couldnt do it... but yea.. long time.. thanks for being so interested though heh
