Today was taking forever. I just wanted it to end. Everyone had forgotten about me. Well all but one guy. Gold Heart. He was a guy from my class and he never knew when to quit but he always did make me feel better. He annoyed the hell out of me but without him I’d be lonely.

Today I was in the park drawing some of the pokémon from the daycare center at the bottom of the hill. There was a tree on the hill over looking it and I was leaned against it as I drew the pokémon.

“Whatcha doing?” a voice asks. I jumped to look up to see the raven haired and golden eyed man in front of me. I held my sketch book to my chest. “Aww, come on, (Name),” he said. “Don’t be like that. Let me see. Let me see. Please?” I ended up giving up and then showed him. “Ha. I knew you were drawing the Daycare. You know you can get closer right?”

“None of my pokémon are there. So I can’t,” I said lowly. I was rather shy and never spoke up that much but Gold made me speak and made time for me. I mean he was a popular guy. He did sports and was pretty smart, though he hid that a lot. You wouldn’t think it because he goofed off and then acted like an idiot but if you looked at his grades, you’d see he was really smart. I knew this because I sat next to him in class.

Gold took my hand and lead me down to the daycare. We soon saw the daycare people and the older man said, “Aww, there you are, Gold. We need some help now.”

“Okay, Gramps,” Gold said. “Wanna help, (Name)? Then you can draw as much as you want.”

“Alright,” I said.

“Alright then. I need you and your friend to feed the baby pokémon and play a little to tire them out,” Gold’s grandfather said.

Gold soon took me over to a white haired man with forest green colored eyes. Almost like forest green. I’d never seen this man before. “Oh, (Name), this is Mark. Mark, this is (Name). He’s in a different class than us but goes to our school and in our grade.”

He smiled at me and said, “Nice to meet you, (Name). Like Gold said, I’m Marcus but you can call me Mark.”

“Nice to meet you, Mark,” I said lowly. “I’m (Name).” He smiled at me. Mark was really nice. Not like most people at school who just looked at you and then left.

Gold handed me a (favorite baby pokémon) and then it smiled up at me. It made me happy to see that. My parents hadn’t let me get a starter and made me work on the ranch so I never did see many pokémon since we were just an orchid ranch.

“(Name)?” Gold asks. “I’ve never seen you smile. I like it. You know that (favorite baby pokémon) doesn’t have a trainer and (he or she) seem to like you. Do you have an opening on your team?”

“Yeah. Six slots,” I said.

“You don’t have a team?” Mark asks.

“No, my parents never let me around pokémon because I had to work on the orchard ranch,” I said.

Gold smiled and then took my hand and put something in it. “There.” I looked and it was a pokéball. I then looked at Gold and he smiled. “(He or She) can be yours. (He or She) has had a hard time with finding a trainer and since (he or she) likes you, you can be (his or her) trainer. How does that sound?”

“G-Gold?” I asked. He smiled and then kissed my forehead. I stood strait up and my eyes widened. “G-G-Gold?” He smiled and then left.

“You do know that he really like you, right?” Mark asks. I blushed. “I can see why. You’re very cute. Your shyness is as well.” He smiled.

“You think so?” I asked with a blush on my face.

“I do,” he says.

After Mark’s little pep talk I took (Favorite baby pokémon) to Gold and I saw him singing to some baby pokémon to put them to sleep. He was so gentle and so sweet. This really was a different side to him that I never knew about. It was so admirable of how great he was with them.

After they were asleep Gold came over to me. “So then (Name) they’re all asleep what do you think about this place now and you can draw all you want now.”

“Thank you and I really like it here. I’m envious that you spend a lot of time here,” I said.

“Well you can always come back here. You’re always welcome here,” he said with a smile. That goofy, goofy smile of his. It almost seemed like he was always smiling. He was always happy but this smile was different from his usual one. Like it was only mine.

“T-Thank you, Gold,” I said. I could feel my face burning. This blush must have been big.

He smiled and then asks, “What was your favorite thing here?”

“You actually. Your smile,” I said looking up in his golden eyes. He looked shocked and then blushed lightly.

He got closer and then kissed my lips softly. He put his hand on the back of my head to deepen it and then I held on his shoulders as he held my waist with his other hand. I melted into the kiss and then he licked the bottom of my lip and I opened up happily. He was shy about it but soon played with my tongue. I felt as though my stomach was a meadow and the Butterfree were on the flowers but then all at one they started to flutter around and went crazy.

We pulled back and I stared at him with a few tears in my eyes. He smiled and wiped my eyes. “(Name), I really like you,” he says. “I’d love it if you could come here more often after school.”

I smiled. “I’d like that but you have to promise to smile.”

He smiled. “Anything,” he says.

A few weeks later I was under the same tree looking over the day care but this time I was drawing Gold and his smile. We soon went out and I went from the most unpopular girl to popular but I didn’t pay attention because I stayed with Gold most of the time.

I had gotten the picture done and soon I heard a laugh. “Aww, (Name),” Gold said and then hugged me. “Thank you but why?”

“Your smile,” I said. “It’s addicting.”

“Like this?” he smiled. I nodded and he kissed me again.

Darn him and his cuteness. He could get anything with those big gold eyes of his.
