Description

Tephrill are an amphibious race, living wherever there is enough water to keep them moist. Their 14 foot long stretchable tentacles are strong enough for them to travel on land with little difficulty. The undersides of the tentacles are bioluminescent and light up for underwater communication. Their internal gills can easily breath air if kept moist and are also used for jet propulsion.

Unlike most vertebrate creatures on earth, tephrill females are larger and more colorful than males who are smaller and drab. Males usually care for the eggs in the relationship. Tephrill have a communal family basically having an entire town as one massive family with all adults acting as parental figures to children. They are also nomadic, never staying in one place for very long. This translates to space travel, and tephrill have been seen in nearly every major station in the galaxy, traveling either alone or in gargaintian transports that house entire tribes in water filled interiors.

Their ships are almost always capable of water landings, almost resembling boats more than spaceships. Generally the average Tephrill will be female, with males generally being a single servant or a sibling. Native born Tephrill are generally secretive and untrustworthy of most. The only reason they joined the federation was due to the Xovark and their need to explore.
