This is why you can't watch movies with me.

Yeah, Β have a habit of pointing out plot holes and differences and such.

niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-04 22:02:39 +0000 UTC]
It's hard not to, especially when there's a LOT of plotholes.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-04 22:26:18 +0000 UTC]
Exactly! Some changes just make no sense! It makes perfect sense in the book, and the movie ruins it!
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-04 23:21:57 +0000 UTC]
And then people who haven't read the book bitch about the plotholes... Read the book!
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-04 23:26:45 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it's so annoying!
Or when they say they don't like it because the movie was bad. Trust me, the book is way better!
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-05 00:39:16 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, exactly. Β Or making fun of the fans because they didn't lie the movie. (fuming)
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-05 15:27:31 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I know right? So much for not judging a book by its cover! (Or movie, in this case...)
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-05 15:40:28 +0000 UTC]
The movie tells you about as much about the plot of the book as the cover does.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-05 23:47:40 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, exactly, or the descritption/critics on the back. Ridiculous!

TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-06 00:10:54 +0000 UTC]
I hate it when people review a book based on the movie. It's so infuriating.
Oh! New fangirl problem!Β
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-06 01:35:02 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it is. Oh, especially when they point out plotholes that are explained in later books/movies. Ugh!
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-06 14:05:43 +0000 UTC]
I know! And then I can't help but explain it, and, of course, they just point out "That never happened in the movie!" "He never said that in the movie!" And then Β have to count to 10 to keep from murdering them.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-06 14:20:49 +0000 UTC]
That's super annoying! They should either wait for the next movie, read the books or keep their mouths shut.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-06 14:37:42 +0000 UTC]
Or they complain because they "need" to know what happens next. The next movie won't come out for a year, pick up the book!
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-06 21:13:01 +0000 UTC]
True, but seriously, would it really be so hard to pick up a book?
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-06 21:45:37 +0000 UTC]
I guess books are expensive, but they ARE being stupid. They could always get them at the library too...
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-06 23:13:43 +0000 UTC]
Or at school. Borrow them from a friend. (Some people started download books on the computers at school, and for some reason I feel like those aren't free like they seem to believe.)

niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-06 23:19:52 +0000 UTC]
I borrowed the third and fourth books of TMR from a friend, and lent her the first and second book, and that worked out just fine! Easy peasy! Why can't people just do that?
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-06 23:54:11 +0000 UTC]
I lent them to a lot of people. I saw this boy I'm not really friends with reading TMR, and it bugged me when he didn't start reading TST, so I offered to lend it to him. (It took him MONTHS to read that book. And it came back in bad condition.)
While he was reading TMR, it was one of the newer editions, with pictures from the movie. Once or twice, I snuck it away just to look at the pictures. (Once to prove to Charlotte that Newt DID in fact call Chuck Chuckie, which she said he didn't.) He either never noticed or didn't care. I think once I even handed it back to him and said "Here." He never said anything.

niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-06 23:59:16 +0000 UTC]
I have a friend in my class with that edition. She absolutely LOVES TMR, so we usually chat about that. I've only lent the books to a few people...
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 00:04:52 +0000 UTC]
Charlotte got that copy too, and I kept sneaking it away.
Once, while I was searching for a quote in it for a school project, I had the copy of Divergent with Tris's picture on the front (I own that copy, and this one was my language arts teacher's copy.) You know the one? It has four on the back, shirtless with all teh tattoos on his back? (I always get kinda uncomfortable when I look at that.)Β
Anyways, I held it in front of Charlotte, Four side facing her, and she just starts reaching for it (she's sitting on the floor and I'm standing) and I pull it away and she just says "Don't mock me like that!"Β
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 00:15:43 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I know the one! I only have the softcover pre-movie copy, shirtless guy free!Β
I feel slightly sorry for Charlotte....
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 00:22:08 +0000 UTC]
Lucky. It just makes me feel kinda weird to look at that. I always put it Four side down.Β
Yeah, I guess.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 00:29:24 +0000 UTC]
At least he's not on the cover of the Four book too! Shirtless guys aren't really my thing...
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 00:31:36 +0000 UTC]
I know! I mean, sure, I guess it's... I feel like Newt now, even typing this makes me feel uncomfortable... and all, but I just feel kinda creepy staring at a picture of a shirtless guy. My friends always save them on their computers and phones and stuff, and I always just look away from them, even if I'm alone.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 00:34:21 +0000 UTC]
I'm not really into any shirtless people, or anything sexual in general situations. Abs aren't even that "sexy"! Oh, teenagers. (get the irony? I'm a teen-)
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 00:46:23 +0000 UTC]
Plus, we're only twelve. Why are my friends calling people "sexy"? I'm fine if they talk about these guys they love, saying they're hot or something, but if one of them calls them sexy or mentions his abs, I just get really uncomfortable. Something about that word just... *shudder*.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 00:50:27 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. Honestly, when I was twelve, I actually was an innocent cinnamon bun. Now I'm a sinnamon bun.
Seriously, though. Ew. Muscly guys aren't hot. Also, I don't understand girls who drool over a guy's looks. I mean, isn't personality important?
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 00:59:37 +0000 UTC]
I remember once in math, Charlotte and I were talking, I forget about what, I just remember at one point she said that I had a dirty mind, and I replied "I love how twelve year olds have dirty minds."
Yeah, I mean none of the guys I like are all the muscly. (Unless you count Newt in the book.)
And I've noticed that the guys I become friend-ish with and even kinda start liking are never the athletic ones. They're kinda dorks. (Like a kid named Jacob in fifth grade. We became friends in language arts class while obsessing over HP.) They're just easier to talk to. Funnier, too. I guess I like dorks. (A dork I can obsess over TMR with will be my ultimate weakness.)
And once or twice in fifth grade, I liked a guy because I thought he was cute, and then started talking to him, and realized he was an idiot.

niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 12:36:29 +0000 UTC]
Yep, same here. One of my guy friends is a total HP nerd, another has knitting needles and yarn on him 24/7. Most of my guy friends really love anime and video games, so we became friends.... I don't have any really sporty friends besides one....

TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 14:12:33 +0000 UTC]
I once saw this picture that said something like "An extremely attractive guy that is also a huge dork will be my ultimate weakness."Β
And people were all naming examples, and someone said, "Namely the entire cast of the Maze Runner."

niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 14:19:59 +0000 UTC]
Yep, that's pretty accurate. XD
Will poulter and Dylan O'brian are complete dorks.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 14:40:41 +0000 UTC]
I know! That's why people love TMR cast.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 16:04:54 +0000 UTC]
And the fact that they're just really cute. Like, TBS actually DOES look 16...
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 16:51:26 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, most of them are pretty good-looking.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 18:04:58 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but I guess a lot of actors have to be good-looking in order to be more popular, thus increasing their income...
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 18:15:38 +0000 UTC]
Or good-looking in order to play a part.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 18:17:38 +0000 UTC]
That too.
It's weird how Min describes Thomas as "one ugly shank" in the book, while Dylan is pretty cute in the movie. Another act of jealousy on Minho's part? ; )
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 18:44:53 +0000 UTC]
A lot of people call Thomas ugly. Chuck, Minho a few times, Frypan, Β and I think a few others.
Dylan isn't exactly how I pictured Thomas. I mean, I love Dylan and all, but I pictured Thomas as kind of a weakling.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 18:46:52 +0000 UTC]
But Chuck is adorable!
Yeah, so did I. I kinda just imagined his as a frail kid that likes to swoon over muscly guys' arms!
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 20:48:07 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, plus all the other guys seem to be taller than him.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-07 22:35:43 +0000 UTC]
And since the others don't seem to be intimidated WHAT SO EVER, I'm guessing that he looks pretty weak.
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-07 23:38:01 +0000 UTC]
Sure, he's fast, but none of the others ever seem impressed. I mean, when they first see him in the Box, they really don't think much of him. They call him a "klunk in a T-shirt" and say he'll be a Slopper. He really must look pretty... normal, for lack of a better word.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-08 01:18:03 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I guess he'd kinda look useless, existing solely to do odd jobs. And no one was really afraid of him even AFTER he stood up to Gally, proving he has some confidence. Poor Thomas..
π: 0 β©: 1
TheRealLeader In reply to niightowls [2015-08-08 14:03:46 +0000 UTC]
He must really look unremarkable for people to think nothing of him, even after his show of confidence.
π: 0 β©: 1
niightowls In reply to TheRealLeader [2015-08-08 14:30:34 +0000 UTC]
He probably just looks like a plain, normal person, so no one really pays attention to the good things he does, just the fuck ups.Β
