Description
The way I see it is that one day Derpy thought it would be a good idea if the Mane 6 had a back-up element just in case something happened to one. After telling Pinkie Pie about the idea, they went to gather the others to present the idea together.Not pictured - Rarity (away in Canterlot for business)

I mainly chose that one because she's a mailpony, and as she says "Sleet, snow or muffins, the mail always comes through!"
She's also very determined to help out. Even if she messes things up, she's never discouraged.
