Mmmm. Looks delicious!

The whole "raw egg" thing going on is rather ridiculous!

I'll definitely try this though!

Oh, never heard of raw edible cookie dough but sounds really tempting!

After reading comments I really wonder why people are so under educated in such basic life things... People are afraid of raw eggs like if it was some kinda plague and in fact these are VERY healthy!
There can be salmonella, that's true, but the chances are so low that you could much rather get poisoned by the packed ham you bought in a shop (and no one's afraid of ham, right?). And you can easily get rid of salmonella by scolding the eggshell before breaking it as salmonella is easily killed by boiling water's temperature and it is ONLY on the eggshell if even - the inside of the egg is always safe and nutritious - come on people, this is EVERYTHING the little chicken needs to keep living and gain strenght before it hatch, it means something right?

Totally agree with you! Any uncleaned stale foods can make us sick.....raw eggs does not own the "exclusive right" for salmonella.....i drink raw eggs all the time, i enjoy it very much, never once was sick from consuming them!

i like your comment a lot

Haha, yeah thanks! ^^
I don't really like the taste of raw egg(only kogel mogel, but with so much sugar it's not so healthy anymore) but I know it's very nutritious so it's a great thing you do drink them!

Would this still work out well if you used regular white sugar, or would you have to change the amount of sugar?

I eat cookie dough with raw eggs. "edible cookie dough" usually tastes like crap and gives me a stomach ache, and you can't even bake it! As long as you don't eat, like, a WHOLE RAW EGG, you probably won't get salmonella.

I really really do like this picture though. ^^

MrsVolv In reply to Pure-Fire-Legend [2015-03-02 21:43:14 +0000 UTC]

Actually it doesn't matter how much of an egg you eat - salmonella is  ONLY on the eggshell and can get inside after you break the egg, so no, doesn't matter how much you eat. But the salmonella is very rare and you can just scold the eggshell before breaking it and it's all safe to eat (salmonella is killed by boiled water temperature).

Try mixing two scalded raw egg yolks with four tea spoons of sugar as long as needed for all the sugar "dissapear" into consistency and try eating it - I belive you should like it then, it's a really good and fast dessert in Eastern Europe called kogel mogel.
Should look something like this: piekarnik.blox.pl/resource/Kog…

i drink WHOLE RAW EGGS ALL THE TIME, never got sick once! I'm sure there were folks who probably got sick from eating/drinking raw eggs, but we don't know the backgrounds of those incidents (old eggs? Unpasteurized eggs?...), I simply do not feel comfortable for such blanket statement.

My cookie dough creation does not taste like CRAP btw

Pure-Fire-Legend In reply to theresahelmer [2015-03-03 03:12:57 +0000 UTC]

haha, yep! I'm sure people can drink raw eggs without getting sick-- after all, as MrsVolv said, the actual salmonella is just outside the egg, unless there is something really wrong with your chicken. Not sure how I'd feel drinking eggs myself, but hey. The thing is, though, egg yokes and whites are an excellent breeding place for bacteria, so if someone got sick from eating raw eggs, it was probably one of those, not actually salmonella.

(and when I said a WHOLE RAW EGG I wasn't trying to be accurate, I was just being extreme.)

i don't understand what all the hubbub is about the "raw egg" ordeal

i understand the salmonella concern, but body builders and people with heavy work outs sometimes drink raw eggs for the protein, but mostly cause it's faster

in truth, all one would need to do is ensure the eggs are pasteurized and wash the shell, cooking them in turn makes no difference other than breaking down the proteins (in which case it would become about what your body needs, full protein vs. amino acids, both are usable in different senses)

so, pasteurized? no sickness

aside from some people not liking even a hint of egg/raw egg flavor, there's not as much a need to leave it out as far as edibility goes

still, it's a cute recipe and very cute pic (can't say i like that egg flavor all that much myself either even if they are the one healthy part of a cookie/cookie dough)

Finally....voice of reasons! Thank you for your lovely comment!

I drink raw eggs all the time...when my children were young, very young, I too gave them raw eggs to drink! No, no one got sick EVER!

FollowsChalk In reply to theresahelmer [2015-03-03 02:04:29 +0000 UTC]

cause pasteurization yo

there's also the bit that it's easier to get poisoned/parasites from unwashed salad/lettuce, most people don't even know that

you're very welcome i wouldn't mind trying it... though some around me think i eat too many sweets (i don't care, i probably will anyway)

PROTEINS!!!

Thyme-Sprite In reply to theresahelmer [2015-03-02 20:01:02 +0000 UTC]

I guess some people jsut have more delicate stomachs.

As long as your body can deal with what you eat/drink, or better even get healthy due to it, everyone should be fine.

It is usually true for most things: If you're not allergic or just hate the taste, as long as it is clean, most things are perfectly safe to be eaten.
(Raw meat isn't a problem either, so why should raw eggs be? Raw potatoes on the other hand could get nasty. )

Another smart comment, thank you so much!

Thank you also for another perfect raw meat example (beef tartare, sashimi). It is all too easy for us to fall into the "have you seen it on the news....?" it is our responsibilities to exercise all matters in life with sound mind and responsible behavior.

Not too difficult right!?

Thyme-Sprite In reply to theresahelmer [2015-03-02 20:27:28 +0000 UTC]

One should think it wasn't too difficult.

And yes, I agree. It is too simple to say "I heard that..(somewhere)" without thinking it through yourself.
Being too lazy to think for yourself makes people mindless and therefore controllable, puppets.

its "edible" bc it has no eggs. regular cookiedough will make u sick bc the eggs are not cooked.

MrsVolv In reply to Kinuna [2015-03-02 21:33:50 +0000 UTC]

Raw eggs are actually very healthy.
Salmonella(the only danger possible and the only reason why some people tell not to eat raw eggs) can be only on their shells so it's enough to scold the shell with boiling water to kill it before you open the egg and it's all safe.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

whuh In reply to Kinuna [2015-03-02 20:17:40 +0000 UTC]

well, i think as long as it's kept in a cold place it is safe to eat. i've eaten a lot of raw cookiedough in my life and i can't recall ever getting sick from it, but i do know that it is possible to get sick from raw eggs. i've never had a problem though... usually cause we eat the dough right after the egg came out of the fridge. haha.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrsVolv In reply to whuh [2015-03-02 21:30:34 +0000 UTC]

The cold place don't help but it's enough to scold them with boiling water (on the eggshell, before removing) and it's all ok to eat. I did eat many and many raw eggs as tasty kogel mogel since my very childhood! Yum! <3

whuh In reply to MrsVolv [2015-03-03 02:09:45 +0000 UTC]

MrsVolv In reply to whuh [2015-03-06 22:29:15 +0000 UTC]

What's funny, when mixed with sugar it's not slimy at all.
(And mostly because it's yolk only, no white)

Roulette17 In reply to Kinuna [2015-03-02 09:06:35 +0000 UTC]

Uncooked eggs are actually OK

When I was a little child and I lost my voice my mother gave me a medicine made of lemon, honey, and raw eggs (doesn't taste good, if you want to make sure it's edible try at your own risk)

Oh, and in my country some people drink hot tea with raw eggs (eggshell removed) in it (I don't like it tho...)
