Trophy Info:
A kung fu apprentice, Young Cricket travels the world with his teacher, Master Mantis, in search of new fighting styles to master and dumplings to eat. Although the two seem like serious figures at first, it turns out they fit right in with the weirdness of Diamond City! They originally came to study the Form Baton movements, but enjoyed their time so much they decided to stick around. Young Cricket has taken everything he's learned into Super Smash Bros., - and Master Mantis isn't far behind, ready to lend a helping hand to his student!
-------
Basic Attacks
A, A, A - A one-two-three series of a straight punch, a forward knee and a side kick.
Rapidly Mash A - After the initial attack, mashing A results in a flurry of nerve strikes, akin to Captain Falcon.
Side Tilt - Young Cricket does a forward elbow strike.
Up Tilt - Young Cricket thrusts both palms upwards.
Down Tilt - Young Cricket does a classic leg swep.
Side Smash - Young Cricket does a lunging forward palm attack.
Up Smash - Young Cricket does a spinning uppercut.
Down Smash - Young Cricket extends his palms on either side of him.
Dash Attack - Young Cricket does a somersault kick.
Neutral Air - Young Cricket does a spinning kick.
Up Air - Young Cricket performs an upward scythe kick.
Forward Air - Young Cricket does a midair karate chop.
Back Air - Young Cricket does a reverse scythe kick.
Down Air - Young Cricket does multiple downward kicks.
Throws
Pummel - Young Cricket punches his opponent.
Forward - Young Cricket performs a classic judo shoulder throw.
Back - Young Cricket does a tomoe nage throw, rolling over once.
Up - Young Cricket aims his opponent upwards, hitting with multiple rapid punches to the gut before knocking them flying.
Down - Young Cricket does a leg sweep that knocks his opponent to the floor.
Neutral Special - Form Baton
Young Cricket pulls out a Form Baton (Wii Remote) and performs a series of poses with it. Pressing B lets Young Cricket cycle through the different Forms. Alternatively, holding B and using the control stick allows for quicker and better Form selection. Each of the five available Forms grants different buffs to Young Cricket.
- The Samurai: Reduces Young Cricket's overall damage, but increases knockback on many of his moves.
- The Boxer: Allows Young Cricket to deal more damage, but decreased knockback.
- The Mohawk: Gives Young Cricket increased air speed and jumping height, but reduces damage and increases his own knockback.
- The Elephant: Gives Young Cricket reduced damage and knockback from attacks, but cripples speed and jumping power.
- The Handlebar: Young Cricket gains extra ground speed and reduced startup/cooldown frames on his attacks.
Side Special - Precious Prancers
Young Cricket jumps onto a carousel horse and rides forward, knocking aside anyone in his way. The player can turn the horse around by tilting the control stick, or do a short boost by tapping forward on the control stick. Unlike Wario's Bike, Precious Prancers cannot fall off platforms, but Young Cricket cannot perform tricks or change his speed. To cancel the move, press B. Young Cricket can also jump off the horse by pressing any viable jump command.
Up Special - Dumpling Jump
Young Cricket jumps diagonally up after a dumpling that appears in the sky. Players can affect Young Cricket's trajectory by pushing up or down on the control stick. If Young Cricket catches the dumpling, he eats it and regains a small bit of health.
Down Special - Master Mantis
Young Cricket poses as Master Mantis appears in front of him. If any attack strikes Young Cricket, he and Mantis respond with their own counterattack. This move, unlike other counters, can also be triggered by attacking Young Cricket from above or behind. However, it is ineffective against energy-based projectiles or flames.
Final Smash - Kung Fu Rush
"CRICKET CRUSH!"
Young Cricket strikes all opponents directly in front of him, knocking them up into the air. He and Master Mantis then perform a flurry of attacks, ending with a combined strike that knocks all the opponents flying. Kung Fu Rush is powerful, but has a short range.
-------
Side Taunt: Young Cricket eats a dumpling.
Up Taunt: Young Cricket performs a kung fu pose whilst giving a kiai.
Down Taunt: Master Mantis appears, and he and Young Cricket bow respectfully to each other.
-------
Victory Pose 1: Young Cricket performs a series of kung fu poses whilst saying "Let the training continue!"
Victory Pose 2: Young Cricket sits down to eat, complaining "All this training makes me hungry...!"
Victory Pose 2: Young Cricket and Master Mantis bow to each other, then pose, with Master Mantis saying "You have done well, Young Cricket!"
Directed Victory Quotes:
- "I'm still waiting on that cheque!" (Wario)
- "I'd be honoured to train under Doc Louis!" (Little Mac)
- "What an interesting fighting style!" (Captain Falcon)
- "Weapons are no substitute for training!" (Snake)
- "Whoa... it's really you!" (Ryu)
- "Just looking at you makes me hungry..." (Kirby)

Palutena's Guidance:
PIT: Y'know, of all the people in Smash Bros., this guy seems kinda normal.
VIRIDI: You're... joking, right?
PIT: Well, I've seen dragons, bounty hunter wolves, electric mice and dancing witches. But this guy looks like your regular kung-fu kid. Not much to be creeped out by.
PALUTENA: You mean Young Cricket? Oh, he's normal. If your definition of normal is "the carousel is the scariest ride."
PIT: Are you kidding?! The last time I was on one of those, I nearly fell off!
VIRIDI: Uh-huh. And I suppose you think the weird poses he does are normal, too.
PIT: Well... yeah! I pose like that, too!
PALUTENA: Ah, but unlike your posing, Young Cricket does it for a reason. He's using Forms - an ancient style that channels spiritual energy through different stances. But it works best when he's holding the Form Baton - that white thing you see in his hand.
PIT: You mean, the Wii Remo-
VIRIDI: Ssssh! You're not supposed to draw attention to things like that!
PALUTENA: Each of Young Cricket's Forms gives him different abilities in battle, but they also come with weakness. Watch his poses and see which one he does, so you can find the weakness quicker.
PIT: Or maybe get ideas for my own poses!
VIRIDI: ...y'know, he's pretty athletic for someone who eats nothing but dumplings! Maybe all that kung fu training keeps him from putting on weight!
PIT: I know! And yet Lady Palutena won't even hear me out on my amazing chocolate cake diet!
PALUTENA: Sorry, but I don't think the Miracle of Flight would work on a... tubby angel!
VIRIDI: Your head's fat enough as it is, anyway!
PIT: You'll see! You'll all see when I make it work!

Stage: Diamond City Stadium
Diamond City Stadium is the central focus of the WarioWare Gold gaming tournament! Here, players fight in the centre of the ring, watched by a cheering crowd and overseen by Wario himself! Occasionally, the stage changes to reflect a popular Microgame from the WarioWare series, and players must take action to complete the Microgame. Winners gain various buffs such as increased damage or speed, whilst losers gain debuffs such as slow motion, reversed controls or a Lip's Stick flower. The audience will sometimes throw items into the arena, so be sure to grab them when you can!
On rare occasions, Wario will put on a crown and become Wario Deluxe! In this form, Wario will try to mess with the players, such as inverting the colours of the screen, farting a gas cloud that obscures vision or using electricity to scramble the Microgame, making it unclear what the players should do! After a time, Lulu will appear to drive Wario Deluxe away and resume normal gameplay. Wario Interrupts is a special variation of the stage that can be selected, where Wario Deluxe is present at all times!
If Wario is being played, then Lulu takes Wario's place watching the match, and Wario Deluxe will not appear.
