It was the only carrier I had available to use. You can't really tell in this scene because of the camera angle but I refitted it with a modernized angle flight deck (many of the US Carriers were rebuilt in this manner to handle jets in the post-WW2 jet age and served through Korea and into Vietnam). There's an updated image called "Coming in Hot" where I've removed the gun turrets and instead placed Macross Destroids as Mobile Weapons Platforms...
