After I did my Tough Love sketch, [link] I felt like doing something gentle and caring between Meta Knight and Kirby. Now then, before any of you start, this is NOT KirbyxMeta! This is Metor/Apprentice, Guardian/Child.After a long day of training with his beloved mentor, Kirby unexpectantly jumps up and gives him a hug. At first, Meta Knight is frozen. He hasn't a clue what to do. This is a foreign, gentle, and loving feeling he's not used to. The tough old Knight is used to being beat up, stabbed, trampled, burned, and anything else that might happen on the battlefield. But it is the loving touch of a child that makes him flinch.
About thirty seconds or so pass by. You know, it's not such a bad thing after all. It feels nicer then being stabbed, kicked, scratched, and punched, that's for sure. Just so long as the young one remembers that Meta Knight is his teacher first and foremost.
Cold heart melting fast, Meta Knight returns the loving embrace.

I really think the mentor/student and guardian/child relationship works really well with these two. The animated show really showed this well and so does this drawing!

I think this pic is just simply adorable! It's true that Meta-Knight had such a hard pass, but it looks like the hug from Kirby made all the pain go away...
It happens sometimes that I repeat to myself Meta-Knight's back story from the anime(episode 04) because I know it by heart.

I don't think tough old Meta Knight really knows what to do when he's treated with kindness. Sure, he's had his friends, but who'd have thought it was that pink cuddlepuff that would thaw out that cold heart?

That's my favorite kind of character in video games! You know, the heart is really tough on the outside, but under that cold shell is a part saved for kindness.

That's how I like to perceive Sir Meta Knight. He's kind of a cactus covered marshmallow... that could whoop you're ass in a second, don't let down you're guard.... but cactus covered marshmallow... XD
