Description In the future of Earth in 50 million years, the majority of species of reptiles have gone extinct, so various other species have taken the niches of reptiles one such case are species of crab which has kept most of its life in the water in various stages starting with the free-moving tadpole-like larva stage. The larva stage lacks any form of legs to walk on land but has developed rudimentary legs in order to hook onto fast-moving marine prey in order to stab its proboscis in suck up the blood in their hosts until they reach the third stage of the Crabmelon. This species is one of the most common species found all around the coasts worldwide in both freshwater and saltwater due to its ancestor believing to be the now very invasive species of crab, the green crab ( Carcinus maenas) 

Shore Crabmeleon ( Carcinus calyptratus ) 

Size: 1mm

Habitat: Worldwide; rocky shorelines, estuaries, bogs, and heavily vegetated shorelines

Colors: larva stage is clay covered with the top and bottom being covered with darkish green and is speckled with green dots surrounding the eyes going down the tail.  

Diet: Blood of marine animals
