Oooh, dynamic! I love the pose, though her legs and hips could use a bit of work.

Have you considered using digital colouring on any of these? or coloured pencil shading? If you don't want to ruin the original you can always trace it.

Thank you! The paper I drew this on was a bit too large for the scanner and her feet and the cobra's tail are cut off as a result. At this stage of my skill development, everything needed a little work, I figure!

Gee, I have considered learning how to colour, but I guess I'm too touch-and-go to really thrash out the details. I have done a colour pencil paper child of Eve... I think a photo is in my gallery somewhere.

Ah, well you could probably have matched it up later, but fair enough, and this is still really good, and heck, I still have trouble with anatomy, there will always be a point where we look back at old art and think we would have done differently.

I just was curious as to how you would colour eve in her different forms if you did use colour, like what kind of pattern she'd have as a snake and what kind of skin and hair tones she'd have as a human. I shall have a look for that photo...

Ooh, found it, very cute and I love the dress you gave her

Many thanks. *bows* I think you have a very distinct art style yourself, and you more than make up for any anatomical mistakes with your very expressive faces and humor.

I am rather mixed up about her myself; Eve has undergone so many changes as a character since her conception. The earliest versions of Eve were several hundred feet tall which should give you a pretty clear idea of just which artist it was which inspired her creation ; the Eve you see here was drawn at a stage when I decided she was a spectacled cobra; the drawing of her in prayer was done when she was a king cobra, and the latest versions of her aren't even based on any real snake. I guess in a way you could say these irregularities reflect the true nature of the nagas - beings who are so skilled in shapeshifting and illusions that the physical body is essentially emptiness. It does nothing good for character continuity, though. Whatever form she took, I always pictured her with black hair and blue eyes, and a slightly tanned skin tone. Thank you! Glad you find it cute!

You're welcome, and thank you as well.

Oh no... oh, not Karbo. C'mon, man, really? *remembers the nightmares after the first time I searched for nagas on D.A.*

A spectacled cobra would seem fitting, being the typical Indian variety, not too sure about king cobras, they're known for being cannibals aren't they?

Good you have a clear picture of her human form at least, and you're welcome, again.

You are most welcome, friend.

But one has to come out open. Yes, it was Karbo, and I even remember the names of the characters who inspired me to make Eve. When I first came across his material, I never expected to find nagas like that in places like that. It piqued my curious interest more than anything, so much so that Eve was created. I never contacted Karbo in person, or submitted Eve to the Felarya universe. She was more my way of exploring a concept that made me curious, really, at least in her early months.

Once I decided I wanted her to be based off a real snake, my first choice was king cobra, partly because coincidentally I'd drawn her with black-and-white markings even when she was a kaiju. That was how she stayed for a while, and the recent changes are really me being unsure of myself. King cobras mainly eat other snakes, and while they have complex social behavior we are just becoming aware of, cannibalism on members of their own species has been documented. The spectacled cobra does seem like a more fitting choice. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her next, as her latest incarnation has become rather popular, but we'll see.

Thanks again!

That's understandable, we all experiment with things that pique our curiosity. I have nothing against anyone liking giants, by the way, just the eating people part.

I know that cobra behaviour is quite complex, I was surprised to find they actually raise their young after hatching, that's very rare in reptiles, but yeah, the Indian variety seems more fitting.

Characters evolve over time, sometimes it takes quite a while to decide on exactly what form we want a character to take, but she's your character, so in the end it's really up to you.

You're welcome, again.

Indeed we do. That's alright, we all are entitled to our own opinions. I didn't get the giant thing, really, but I declare that I've had an odd fascination with a distinct variant of the eating people part. I understand that you'd rather not discuss paraphilias, so we can leave it here if you so desire.

Characters do indeed change, and we'll see how things turn out. The main reason I actually changed her from being a real species to a fictional one the second time around was really to separate in my mind reality from fiction/mythology. I don't really want my perception of real snakes being blurred by my imagination.

I am no stranger to morbid fascination, but yes, if you don't mind, yes, I'd rather move on.

Ah, that's a good point, perhaps then combine features of the two snakes she's been based on in the past?

Of course, let us move on, good sir.

That's a good idea, and I will consider it, seeing how things progress as of now on. Thank you!
