Description

ハイラルの希望

EDIT: It wasn't ready then, I knew! So I continued it, when I realised I had not done blue shadows on his face and wanted to darken it! Also found the light not balanced in previous, so I added more bg, and some more green effect.

Now I feel much more satisfied with this, since I originally wanted that kind of strong face shadow, but was afraid of making it. And just recently learnt the benefit of blue in shading! Still wanted to spare some glow on Link too.

Hope you like it now, too.

It's winter time now, the light is pretty poor and cold, I'll see if I manage a sunlight pic sometime.

And here goes Link! I've been working on this so long, ever after Zelda and since this idea came! But I didn't want to show it until it's done. Funny, I didn't intend to make them with their main Triforce colour playing a big part, though here's so much green (courage) and Zelda's so blue (wisdom). :')

I plain love the ability to go through walls, and I wanted to do some art when his hand's raised up, but for aeons I searched for the pose, and nothing seemed quite like I intended, for dynamic perspective challenge.

Here's the pose: Art vs Artist

And there I ended up doing the pose myself with a selfie stick (yes, I have one, for "art" purposes, 'cause I'm not into selfies, usually X'D) and it was perfect!

My Camel watercolours again. The second test of them. (Yes, this is the 3rd watercolour work painted over my tatami). Gosh, the variety and vividness of the colours surprised me again!

Besides, the particular bluish green fit so well with Zonau gear, though I did mix here and there.

Added white for light hues, but also mixed some green from plain yellow and blue.

The turquoise light blue was the hardest, mainly for the hand, but eventually I got it.

Not at all the easiest pose, but the fun is where the challenge. The hand thing almost gave me headaches, I used game refs, but also unopened amiibo, only to realise they didn't quit match, haha. Art book sadly doesn't feature this wonderful hand in all angles I'd like.

The background was question a long time, I didn't want it to be all black. And then I wanted to draw some Zonau/Zonai devices. :3 (As you might know, I'm experiencing this game in Japanese, so I'm pretty lost with English terms. lol)

But the whole process was epic, and I had so much fun with this!

Listened Fire Temple and Wind Temple + boss theme at the end of this piece, since I've just cleared those.

No spoilers please.

Much more pleased with this than the first Link try!

Feel free to interpret it as you like, whether this is deep underground or in a cave or... Liked the idea of reaching up, flying with the Zonau gear, they're pretty fun to paint too.

Tools: pencil, Camel watercolours (1999 Mumbai, India), a few hair tiny brush for final details, like the eyes, hair etc.

Time and patience. XD
