Description I present the third installment in my Duality series: Vibe.

Vibe. When I heard that name in my head, it just stuck right to this fractal.

I'm very happy with it, I was a bit worried about how the color would come out, but fortunately, it turned out just fine. After eight days rendering, it should be fine, eh?

Also note that this is (what I call) a "Long Portrait", it lacks that low aspect ratio of the ones I've done in the past. It's the first successful render I've had like this, I think it has a great effect on the fractal itself. I've also done very few green fractals, I like green .

At first, I was a bit iffy on the border, but I decided I'd sleep on it, and see what I thought in the morning. I quite like it, actually. The low colors accent the vibrance of the fractal image within, it seems to bring out both the pale tones, and the bold greens.

Also notice the pattern, I really like how it seems to take on a more "natural" feel, when working with the green, it provides a very nice effect.

Duality Concept: I had a strong, but short concept for this one, and it wasn't as idealistic as my previous concepts. I wanted something bold, and strong, in design, not as abstract and open to interpretation at my last one. I wanted something portraying a pulse, or a vibe (I would later implement that as the title). I wanted the pattern to be strong, but still have its subtle, detailed variations. From the start, I planned on a unique aspect ratio. I wanted a long portrait, as I've never done one before. I felt it would be a good idea to try something new like this.

it's like an echo or something and like zen-x said it's like something will jump out of the green abyss and bite your face off, aaarrrghh, and no face, just imagine it...

Thank you for the comment, and I'm glad you like it. id like to get back into flame fractals again, but unfortunately I don't have the patience for the render time.

I usually spend a lot of time in apophysis working with a fractal, transforming it, and morphing it, until I get my desired result.

Glad you like it, though.

Looks kinda like sound waves... you know, like an ooouuuuu, whoooooooffffff, and zooouuuu! ^_^ Don't mind me, I'm kinda tired, when I'm tired, I tend to ramble about stuff that nobody cares about... O.o yeaaah, Hey, do you know what that song is, from the 80s, and it goes like, "don't you, forget about me" like, a thousand bagillion times? I can't remember the title... unless that's it... then this would be pointless, anyway, I love this, and I love your whole gallery! ^_^ You're a younger version of Einstien! Feel proud!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheThunder In reply to Seshygirl04 [2005-08-26 10:51:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it kinda does, I noted that too, as I was working on it. I do remember the song you're talking about, it's not a bad song .

Glad you like my gallery, I work hard on my images, and try to keep it as professional as I can. I wouldn't exactly compare myself to Einstein, though , but if you want to, I'll accept the title .

Looks very organic...not as 'beautiful' as the other two, but still has it's own appeal! I like the the softer hues at the top of the render

TheThunder In reply to TW1STEDP1X [2005-08-26 10:53:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I noticed it does look organic, which is very cool . Th hue change adds a lot to the render too, it gives it a feeling of depth.

the-negative [2005-08-25 14:01:45 +0000 UTC]

This... maybe a little of a letdown. A little.
Did you ever used Winamp and the plugin Geiss (currently version 2) and it's AVS?
Awsome shapes like this turned out-sometimes.
This isn't THAT awe-inspiring like the previous 2 Dualities, but it's damn great.
What I didn't like was the constant "reflections" projected, and the gradient is kinda creepy.
The border is nice, and the quality is definately shocking, but there are some quirks to iron out.
But if you're satisfied with it, never mind-consider me bambling...

TheThunder In reply to the-negative [2005-08-25 14:08:27 +0000 UTC]

Nope, I'm iTunes all the way .

I guess I can see where you're coming from, but without the reflections, it would look somewhat blank, you know?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-negative In reply to TheThunder [2005-08-25 15:16:29 +0000 UTC]

Blank- add brushes- add color- not so blank after all.
But that would be photoshop, not Apophysis.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheThunder In reply to the-negative [2005-08-25 15:19:25 +0000 UTC]

No, I never photoshop my renders further than resizing, and adding a border.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-negative In reply to TheThunder [2005-08-25 15:22:00 +0000 UTC]

Border's considered PS.
See if you can make an Apo border from another fractal.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheThunder In reply to the-negative [2005-08-25 15:37:29 +0000 UTC]

I make a border surrounding the fractal, in a whole new file. I never change the final render itself, except for resizing.

I modify no colors, curves, or shapes, or anything of that kind.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-negative In reply to TheThunder [2005-08-25 15:45:14 +0000 UTC]

Wow. Pure and hardcore.
DUnno how many artists still resist the temptation of Photoshop's postprocessing...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheThunder In reply to the-negative [2005-08-25 16:50:45 +0000 UTC]

Yep, it's tempting, but I feel guilty when I do use it to modify the image, so I don't.
