We all know the story of Tarzan, right? It's a story about a human who was raised by gorillas in the jungle, and it's a pretty interesting tale to tell. And even Disney thinks so, which is why they did their version of it in 1999. And as we approach the 25th anniversary of Tarzan, it's time to take a look at my top 5 favourite Tarzan characters. These are all my personal opinions as usual, so don't be too mad if any of YOUR favourites aren't on this list, unless you want to be a leopard's dinner!

And now, onto the real list. AWAWAWAWA!!!

5: Kala - Starting off this list is the gorilla who found the orphaned Tarzan as a baby after his parents were murdered by the very leopard who killed her own baby (which is pretty sad on it's own), and she took him in, despite Kerchek's objections to it. I love how Kala never judges others by their appearances, which is why she's an awesome mother to Tarzan, even if he's a human, hence why she makes the list.

4: Jane Porter - Ah yes, the love interest of Tarzan herself. With that said, Jane is quite a beautiful character and quite a sweetheart! She and her father came to the jungle from England to study gorillas where she came across Tarzan. I enjoy the relationship between the two; Jane teaches Tarzan everything about human culture and in return, Tarzan shows her around the jungle, even teaches her how to swing on vines, and she's a quick learner at it, so it was nice to see her decide to stay in the jungle along with her father. Plus, she looks good in jungle wear.

3: Tantor - Tantor is an elephant who lives in the jungle and one of Tarzan's closest friends. When he first made his debut in the film, he mistook Tarzan for a piranha, which hints he's not very brave. And he's not that intelligent either, as shown when he thought Tarzan was part elephant just because they share the same love for peanuts, even though they look nothing alike. But he knows when to be brave, as shown near the end of the film where he talked Terk into helping him save Tarzan when he got locked in the boat by Clayton; that took guts.

2: Terk - And here, we have Tarzan's adopted cousin. While Terk started off by being weirded out by Tarzan, she eventually warmed up to him and they spend most of their time wrestling with one another. She may be brash and impulsive, not to mention unwilling to show emotion, but she's still a fun gorilla you'd want to wrestle with. And it's all these qualities that are why Terk makes it this high on the list. Who's number one? We'll find out right now...

1: Tarzan - Yep, it's another one of those times where the main character of a franchise is my favourite character from that franchise. With that said, Tarzan is still an enjoyable character. He was a human raised by gorillas after he lost his parents at such a young age, and while he had trouble fitting in, he learned quickly how to adapt, even swinging on vines and having such an iconic cry. Then some humans came to the jungle where he met Jane Porter and after a while spending time together, they fell in love with one another, and when Tarzan became leader of the gorillas, Jane stayed with him, and it's such a nice ending. Tarzan is such an awesome hero for uniting both humans and gorillas, which is why he's number one on this list.
