Speed/matte painting, initially done for a school assignment, this became a personal work made just for fun.The original plate is a pic of Paris I found on flickr. The weather and the women are just soo fine right now in Paris, such a funky inspiring city......

Amazing work!!! I wish the light rays coming from the sun where a little more blured.. thatΒ΄s the only thing I believe it could be improved.. but overall itΒ΄s a fantastic piece of work!!! Love it!!

Hi dude, amazing artwork I love it. However, I think you have mis-understood what mattepainting is... mattepainting is a finished photo realistic image. Your works (as amazing as they are) are more into the concept art and digital painting side. That is not necessarily bad but it gives you an idea what these are just in case you will apply for a job

And yeah, I know these aren't real matte paintings. Actually, in the description above its written "speed/matte", because I don't really know what to call them.

Those buildings reminds me of Resistance (PS3). Not exactly the same buildings.. but it's just like a picture:

Le seul problème, mineur tu m'diras, c'est que les nuages ne sont pas vraiment en accord avec la lumiere.. Justement, ils sont tous le contraire.. Les ombres sont inverser !

What package did you use to create this kevin? Did you use a photograph as a base point or did you sketch the whole bad boy out from scratch?

lol, this was supposed to be a background for my 3d scene posted previously. We don't have a matte painting course (unfortunately)!!
Maybe a few american (california) schools proposes these kind of lessons..

dude this is just amazing, it have a lot of profundity and its looking great. the tones of the buildings are so reallistic, it give them more volume and the sky colors are nice. I really like the clouds that are more far away. nice dude, really nice, gonna fav
