Description Yay! My first GTK theme is released!

Numix White is a Gtk 3 and Gtk 2 theme, based of the original Numix theme ([link]

However, it is whiter and has a more elegant look and feel. It also contains themes for Gnome, Unity, Xfce, Pantheon and Openbox, and is compatible with Gnome 3.6 and Gnome 3.8. Gtk 2 theme requires the Murrine engine.

There are the folders inside, one for Gtk 3.6 and lower, and one for Gtk 3.8 - extract the folder depending on what version of Gtk you have.
Installation instructions are included.

Edit: Some nice guy called Diego has also made an AUR for this theme, see here: [link]

Changelog:

1.4: Fixed some things in the overall theme.
1.3 : Finally updated for Gtk 3.8
1.2 : Corrections to the Unity theme.
1.1 : Tweaks to the GTK, Metacity and Xfwm themes.
1.0 : Release

I prefer a slightly darker background (so that I can see where pages end in Evince for instance):

~zagortenay333 : if you like dark panels, try the original numix.

Hey. It would be nice if you update the theme based on latest Numix. It has lots of bugs fixed and GTK 3.10 support.

I like it a lot, much more than the original Numix.  Nevertheless, I wish the red highlights were actually blue!

On the side, just above "More from TheVirtualDragon" and just below the "More like this" thumbnails

Wow the combination of this Gtk theme with the white version of this: [link] (which i customized to make it white) is just perfect!

I'm just slightly annoyed by the scrolling having no left margin (which causes it to be way to close to the page's content) but I think I will get used to it.

Hmmm...the scrolling thing could be a bug...could you describe what you're experiencing better?

And your screenshot looks great...nice combo

Hmm I think there is too much white in here.A black panel for one I think is a must here.Like in your preview shot.A black panel by default would look way better. Also, a pure white doesn't seem right.I think it would look more professional with shades of white. You should put up a screenshot of this theme with the Faenza icon theme also preferably Faenza black(black folders) maybe even awoken but I think faenza would be way better.Again it would give it a more pro look rather then these amateurish elementary icons >.>

Firstly, I would like to say thanks for the feedback.

The main concept behind the theme was for everything to blend seamlessly together - so the title-bar buttons would look like they were part of the content area. This is why everything is a pure white colour.

Also, the reason the preview looks amateurish is...because I'm an amateur. I'll consider and implement your suggestions.

Also, I can't really change the theme much now that it's been downloaded hundreds of times (for the sake of consistency across machines) but I'll definitely consider your views when making future themes.

Will you update this for GTK 3.8?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FallenUnia In reply to FallenUnia [2013-05-01 18:18:56 +0000 UTC]

It seems that to make it work nicely with 3.8, all you have to do is replace "border-style: solid" with "border-style: none" for every .menuitem

I haven't come across any other ugly styles yet, but then again I haven't ever used this theme with GTK 3.6 so I'm not sure how it should look

I'll release a Gtk 3.8 version soon, just need to get Gnome / Gtk 3.8 running on a test machine.

It's been updated for Gtk 3.8, just reply back if there are any problems.

FallenUnia In reply to TheVirtualDragon [2013-05-11 18:09:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I'll test it right now and report back if/when I find anything.

Did it require more changes than just the menu?

TheVirtualDragon In reply to FallenUnia [2013-05-12 13:08:05 +0000 UTC]

Not really, although I think I've found a bug which will need some more tweaking...

Hit me up if you need help. By the way, your Notebooks (the frames) are flawed; there's no frame drawing anymore when I use two or more tabs.

I have fixed this in my local copy - I can send the changes made to you if you don't want to look into it yourself.

TheVirtualDragon In reply to FallenUnia [2013-05-12 17:16:07 +0000 UTC]

I have fixed it - it was a bug in the overall theme, not just Gtk 3.8.
