It is if you don't have a degree in computer science and it makes it more difficult if you know nothing about compiling code, parsing, lexical analysis, token analysis, what languages it should support, debugging, code optimization, programming, and UI design inside of another IDE. The little things I just listed take years to learn and master, and those only make up 20% of an IDE.

Uhm, you explained whatΒ the basics of aΒ programming language is. What you just said could very well relate to an API or programming interface of a language. Knowing what a language is does not mean you know how to compile it or how it is compiled.
